Rue Grétry 196, 4020 Liège, Belgium
Not recommended. A family member has been there for a year. He went through the cantou (study room). The occupational therapist once told me (word for word) "It wasn't me who drank, it was him." She was visibly annoyed because the resident was no longer fully conscious and asked every morning to leave for work. One Sunday, the person supervising the same cantou left me alone with my family member and all the residents. She was hungry and had gone to get something to eat. Another Sunday, the person designated to run the cantou was dozing in an armchair. She waved hello without getting up. I always saw the inactive residents sitting on chairs, empty-handed, with the TV off. Several months ago, my family member left the cantou for a "normal" ward. I know that the working conditions for nurses and nursing assistants are difficult. They would have 6 minutes a day to take care of each patient. How happy I would be if we could devote 6 minutes to my loved one!!! He needs help with hygiene. Don't change his clothes, don't put them in the laundry anymore for fear they won't come back. Lots of clothes disappear....!!?? It doesn't take 6 minutes to check the condition of the clothes and put them in the baskets provided for this purpose and take clean clothes out of the closet... You've probably understood, the person I love means a lot to me. I regularly report these problems to the staff, who clearly have taken a dislike to me. I don't care. The staff may hate me, but... let them respect C. I will always be attentive and will continue to ensure that he is as unhappy as possible.
