I found the staff extremely kind and generous. My Mother is here for a short stay while she relearns to basics after breaking her hip. Rehabilitation here is encouraging. I truly feel they (Rehab)care about their patients. Their Dietary department is very accommodating, their Activities group are always so upbeat and friendly. The CNA's and Nurses are incredibly kind, always helpful!

They served their country. There’s no better way to thank them for their services than serving them back. Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home is the best place for our wounded warriors. With the best quality of care provided by staff who’s team work is just amazing! Yukio provides clean, comfortable, safe and secure home away from home.
Quality of care and residents well being are the main values of this facility. Lots of activities that are well adapted for all and help from staff/volunteers to include everyone no matter their mental/physical capacity. I wish my grandparents lived there.
The only state Veterans Home in Hawaii these folks take pride in serving the veterans every day. Their staffing levels are so much higher than everyone else in the area. They are definitely five star! The facility is really close to the hospital too. There is a feeling of Aloha as soon as you enter the building!
The nursing staff is great and caring. The food is good. Physical therapyist are good, know there jobs and listen to you However management to Physicl Therapy is another story. The biggest problem however is the administrative staff sucks!! Do not give you complete infomation, do not pass on messages to visiting personal -such as DAV & veterans representatives, & treat you as if you are inferior.
