As an author, I do a lot of in-person events to talk about my books, but my visit to The Residence at Great Woods was by far my favorite! I was bowled over by the staff, who were friendly and helpful, making sure I had everything I needed. The Residence's facility is bright and warmly welcoming. And the best part of the day was the opportunity to meet the residents, who were a joy to chat with. They asked so many questions we could've talked all afternoon. Plus, we had tea and treats! Looking forward to visiting again soon.

My dad has been in memory care here since January 2025. Recently his brother passed away and we asked the head chef, Joe, if we could have 10 family members for a family lunch on a Sunday. Joe took care of all the arrangements, and when we arrived on our day, we found a fully set table in an adjacent area to the dining room. We were seated by our server, Nancy, and she and Joe catered to our every need, from coffee, soup, and main dishes, to dessert. My family raved about the quality of the food and the first class service. It is hard to believe the level of quality of the food that is served to the residents and guests here. I later found out that Joe had come into work JUST for our event. I visit the my dad frequently, at The Residence at Great Woods, and Joe always greets me if we pass in the hall. I have also spied him "shmoozing" with residents during mealtime at their tables. In total, this turns out to be the best decision we could have made for my Dad. Every single staff member has been friendly, and not only when there's someone watching, and they have been tremendously accommodating. Today's experience is yet another illustration that my Dad is in the best of hands. THANK YOU Joe and Nancy!
I highly recommend Residence at Great Woods. From management, all the staff, and residents they are all so pleasant, helpful, and make you feel like family. My Mom is in the Reflection Neighborhood & I could not ask for a better place for her to be. All the staff is so kind and trained to handle the special care these residents need. They have to be a special group of people to be so kind and patient with all the residents. Thank you to everyone at the Residence at Great Woods! ❤️
We were welcomed from the first moment that we introduced my mom to the staff. It was especially comforting in that all of the details were very upfront and well explained. The executive chef came out to the initial meeting sent me home with something for my mom to enjoy and made several visits to make sure the food was to her liking. That part was very special because my mom loved food and it made her feel special while she was there.
WARNING!!!!!!!!!! STAFF STOLE MY GRANDMOTHER'S DIAMOND RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first one was my great grandmother's ring passed down to my Mimi and it went missing last fall (a few months before she passed away). We assumed she lost it, but she kept insisting that she put it back in her jewelry box before going to the hospital. Mind you, my grandmother did not have any issues with her memory whatsoever, she was incredibly sharp to the very end. We also have photos of her wearing it right before the hospital and never wearing it again after coming back. We didn't notice right away because she was in and out of the hospital and she was travelled up north with us for Christmas. It all immediately clicked for us the day after she passed away in January of this year. The morning that she passed away with family by her side, we put her ENGAGEMENT ring in that same jewelry box in her dresser (where she kept her other ring as well). We left that afternoon to go home and rest, planning to come back the NEXT MORNING to begin collecting things and we LOCKED the door behind us. I even said to family "should we take her rings?" as I had a suspicion about the first one because in addition to her having a great memory, I've also seen firsthand how poorly she was treated. My family responded "no, they're in her dresser, we'll lock the door, & we'll be back in the morning"... But of course when we come back in the morning, the ring is gone. Staff members have master keys, and one came into my deceased grandmother's room between 4pm on January 19th and 11 am on January 20th to steal the ring that my grandfather proposed to her with in 1964. We kept quiet and had the police handle it privately with management as we mourned the loss of my Mimi, but nothing has been resolved. I feel absolutely violated on behalf of my grandmother, I am disgusted with this establishment and their lack of security and ability to hire trustworthy staff. If you or a loved one is living here, please put up cameras and extra security - ask questions and report to the Norton Police Department if you notice things go missing.
