The patients are paying for care that they aren’t receiving! i had an awful experience interacting with staff, it seems that they simply don’t care. The front desk receptionist was in the back chatting for 10 minutes before I found someone to go get her to help. They didn’t even have nursing staff when I visited. The only positive reviews I can find are from employees, low quality of care seems to be the consensus from patients/family.

The administrator has a lot to learn. She has no communication skills, never returns calls or addresses concerns from the family. 3/4 of the time the staff doesn’t answer the phone and I have had to drive an hour to check on my mother on more than one occasion. So relieved my mother no longer resides there. Serious changes need to be made, starting with the current administrator. Naomi is amazing and gets things done. I was so very thankful for her, Sue and Denise. Also, more than once my mother was refused bread because of “short supply.” Absolutely ridiculous
My mother moved into Woodlands Senior Assisted Living of Brewer in July 2014 and then made a smooth transition to Woodlands Senior Memory Care of Brewer next door in April 2016 where she lived till she passed away this past November. She was cared for with the utmost respect, compassion and dignity. As her dementia progressed the staff and administrators not only gave her the reassurance, guidance and support she needed but they also became her family. The staff not only made it their job to learn her preferences for her food choices, clothing and personal care but they also communicated these preferences to each other so that they were all on the same page. The amazing thing is these young professionals not only accomplished all this with my mother but I observed on many occasions they treated all the residents under their care with the same amount of respect. I will be forever grateful to all the folks who make up the team of Woodlands Senior Living of Brewer. They became my support and trusted friends who I could not imagine having gone on this journey without them. Louise Seekins
The seniors here are truly the most precious people. To come to work every day and tell our community partners how much we all care about these deserving and wonderful people is so heartfelt. We are ALL here for them...the residents ...both in Assisted Living and our beautiful Memory Care Facility.
Staff seems disgruntled and put out by visitors. I had an employee yell at me for not following rules when the rules had not been told to me. She scolded me and my grandmother for a hug in the threshold of the visiting room. Also, no help when you need it. My grandmother needed tissues and there were none in the room. Same employee scolded me for getting some in the next room after looking first for an employee (none to be found). Disrespectful and the place smells awful every time I go there. Sad.
