Our precious elderly mother lived here 2.5 yrs and passed away last spring at the age of 95. She was incredible and was so very proud of being in the independent senior living category. All 3 of us children live out of state. If I ever needed to help my mother, all I had to do was pick up the phone and call Keli, executive director. I always got immediate and helpful responses! When my mom passed last April, I had to fly in from out of state and I had 3.5 weeks to clean out a beautiful, but very stuffed, 2 bdrm apartment, with lots of furniture. Everyone on staff, from the exec. dept to housekeeping to maintenance to food service, were all so gracious and helped me with so much. We will be forever indebted to this lovely senior living facility and the amazing staff here. Thank you to all of you.💖
My friend, Kit, invited me to be her guest for lunch. We really enjoyed the liver and onions meal along with the rhubarb and strawberry pie that had ice cream on the side. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is friendly and very comfortable. The director was very welcoming. It is always fun to visit with the residents. Kit Anderson invited me to a tea today. We had very tasty food with tea. We enjoyed visiting with other residents, employees, and the director. I always feel very welcome when I visit Winslow Court. Kit invited me to Sunday lunch. It was a scrimp, rice, and vegetable dish. We had a fruit cake with ice cream on the side for dessert. Everything was very good. Kit and I were joined by two of her friends. We had a very enjoyable visit. It is so much fun to get to meet residents at Winslow Court. They always have great life stories to share.
Staff are friendly, food is good. Head waiter Ibrahim is especially good. Building is dated but functional. A fire drill happened and my 96-year-old friend was not taken out in a wheelchair but on his walker, which he could barely manage. As a result, he was overtired, which probably contributed to his fall on the way back from lunch. He broke his hip and this led to his death six weeks later. The report on his fall was incomplete and inaccurate. The ramp from the main room down to the 100 wing was also related to the cause of his fall. There was no discount for his being away from the facility and not eating there the last six weeks of his life.
My mom did not receive her morning medications that she pays an extra $700.00 a month to have them administered and watched as she swallows as she chokes.
