My Mother wanted to live closer to the rest of the family in Chesapeake VA, instead of near me in NC in a retirement home. As her guardian and conservator, this is very difficult as my primary way to manage her medical team and oversee her care is mostly by phone. When looking for a place for Mom, the facility has to be gorgeous and clean. As a foodie, good food is just as important! However, the staff has to also be top notch… and THEY ARE!!! The management team, Dennis and Lindsey as well as Mauro and Kelly are Rockstars! They genuinely care about the residents, are sharp problem solvers, great communicators, work hard in managing the facility and it shows! I cannot end this review without mentioning the other Rockstars, Ashley, Dexter and April who are just as caring, competent and each are integral part of the dream team! Mom is 88 and if I could keep her here, I will for as long as I can as my trust with this team is priceless! So, Ive hired a private nurse, Jamie who is also an Angel, so as to not have to move her to an Assisted Living where she will just be a number! At Willow Creek, she is blessed with an extended family that I trust! 👆🏽✝️

I am writing this review to share my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional care and warm community at Willow Creek. As an assistant manager here, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication and compassion of our staff, and it fills me with immense pride to be a part of this wonderful family. The moment you step into our retirement home, you are greeted with a sense of comfort and belonging. Our residents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity, ensuring that they feel valued and cherished every day. The beautifully maintained grounds and cozy living spaces provide a serene and inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying one's golden years. What truly sets Willow Creek apart is our commitment to creating a vibrant and engaging community. From the variety of enriching activities and events to the delicious, nutritious meals prepared with love, every aspect of life here is designed to promote happiness and well-being. Our team goes above and beyond to foster meaningful connections, ensuring that every resident feels like an integral part of our family. I am continually inspired by the stories and smiles of our residents, who have found not just a place to live, but a place to thrive. Their gratitude and joy are a testament to the exceptional care and support we provide. Being a part of Willow Creek is more than just a job for me – it is a calling to make a positive difference in the lives of our beloved residents. If you are looking for a retirement home where your loved ones will be treated with the highest level of care and compassion, I wholeheartedly recommend Willow Creek. It is a place where hearts are full, friendships flourish, and every day is filled with warmth and love.
I was getting my hair done and one of your residents was here and ready to be picked up. Her stylist called the bus driver, April, and said she was ready to be picked up. April said"whatever"and hung up on the stylist..the entire salon could hear what she said. This started a conversation about how rude April is to the residents and anyone who calls for them. It this is how she acts in public, what does she do when nobody is around?
As my father as been put on hospice, leaving willow creek has been horrible! Calling to give 30 days notice, I was told by the manager “ you have to pay your 30 days- even if your father dies- you owe that money” Cleaning his apartment out has been a show. Staff at Willow creek along with staff for care have been in and out of the apartment. As we are cleaning, Willow creek staff unlocked the door to show the apartment without permission. We did have to move my father quickly, as his health is declining and had to pay our 30 days- anybody and everybody has keys to all apartments and this company does whatever they would like. There is NO SECURITY on site. People have gone in his apartment when we weren't there and STOLEN HIS PROPERTY. There is no help on finding the thieves that stole our property. As the staff as directed us to file a police report. Well, everyone has a key- so, who did it? The willow creek staff? The all preferred care staff? Nobody knows- there are cameras on site and willow creek has done nothing to help us see who went in and out of his apartment. All preferred care - the on site care has stolen from us too. Laundry pods in his apartment- In the 18 months that my father was there, there have been 4 new sets of managers. We are beyond disappointed with this place. It is so sad with how they push problems off to the next person. I would not recommend this facility.
Our dear mother of age 91 had planned to remain at home for the remainder of her life but a fall suddenly changed all that. She stated that she needed a little more help so my siblings and I went all out to find the best fit for her. We visited a lot of places and chose Willow Creek in Chesapeake VA. Ashley in marketing was quite patient showing us all the room options several times and we had a nice meal in between. Mom loved how open and bright the facility was and how clean everything looked. The managers David and Heather are absolutely fantastic and make mom and the other residents feel welcome and taken care of. Cassandra, Jill and Dexter are also a delight and the five of them along with the entire staff are great. Probably the biggest surprise for us has been how good the food is and the many choices available. It feels like you are in a restaurant and the service is actually better than some of the local places we frequent. I could go on and on with my praise of this retirement community. If you are looking for a great retirement community in the Hampton Roads area, I recommend you tour Willow Creek.
