My husband just left rehab here post hospital stay. Previous reviews were worse than what we found. It did take time for some aides to arrive for overnight toileting, help buzzer not working? But eventually it got better. The social worker, nurses, aides and PT crew are excellent, good with listening and communication with the family’s concerns. Overall a better experience and care than expected. May be new owners are choosing better people. I wish them good luck!

Whiting Gardens doesn't have the newest or best decor but it does have some really awesome nurses. My loved one was there and I can truly say Joanne AKA Peppy made this whole time easier for all of us. She is the type of nurse that puts her heart in her work. The 4 star rating is because the food leaves alot to be desired but we brought him food in to up his spirits. If your loved one is at ANY facility, visit often!!! Get to know who you are leaving your loved one with. It helped alot in this hard time to feel we could trust he was being cared for
I was admitted for a left sacral fracture for their physical therapy department. So far it's been 2 weeks here. The physical therapists are wonderful caring individuals. I am very pleased with my progress and if it wasn't for them I would have hung myself! As far as the aids when they are good they are very good but when they are bad they are horrible! Today was left on the bed pan for an hour. As I cannot transfer to the toilet yet to much pain. Most of the patients are Medicaid. And have mental difficulties. The food is horrible but I have to eat to heal. I have yet to see a normal patient related physical therapy. I think I am the only one here. The Physician assistant in charge Ahnee is wonderful and Trish the day nurse is too. Just praying for healing so I can go home.
They stole all of my mother's clothes and Jewelry. She went from complete care in Brick they transferred her to Whiting. They all blamed each other. When I asked to speak to someone higher up they gave me a phone number, a girl washing dishes answered and the person, I was asking for was never available. Awful. Never enough Nurses or aids, and NO activities.
Good job whiting gardens nursing staff for having a patient with a wander guard leave the nursing home that was found at Wawa in Whiting. The Nurse that showed up had a bad attitude towards the EMT that was taking care of the patient and keeping the patient warm in his ambulance. I WILL NEVER KEEP A FAMILY MEMBER IN THAT PLACE. THAT LAME EXCUSE FOR A NURSE NEEDS TO GET HER ATTITUDE ADJUSTED.
