We put our parents in this facility for hospice respite for 5 days. My mother fell out of bed onto the concrete floor and no one helped her up, not sure how long she was on the floor. They didn't even put her a bed alarm knowing she was fall risk. My sister went to visit and found here with blood in her mouth and her body has been in pain ever since we brought her home. This has given her trauma, and we are trying to get her back to feeling better and not so sore on her body. We were not happy with how they cared for her or my father. They did not even have any clean clothes on, and he looked like he was not washed up when I picked him up. He was laying in one position for a couple of days and he came home with such a sore neck we were not happy with how they did not care for them. They totally did not follow protocol when my mother fell. I don't recommend this facility.

This is an amazing choice, if you need rehab or long term care. The staff are kind, caring and engaging, most having over 10 years at this facility. The residents are up and moving around, actually taking and seem happy to be there. I looked all over Colorado Springs and then Denver and accidentally found the best I've seen in the entire state. I recommend Wheat Ridge Manor Care to anyone needing assistance. Just give 'em a call! This is definitely your best choice.
The staff at Wheatridge Manor is kind and compassionate with their residents. My father was a resident there for physical therapy after open heart surgery and was able to fully rehabilitate with their services.
Spoke with the Director of Admissions on last Tuesday Dee Gallegos and she was very professional. She took me on a tour of the facility and showed me around. Staff were all warm and friendly. Thank you to Ms. Dee Gallegos and Wheat Ridge Care Center!!!
This facility earned one star due to excellent PT and OT plus Bella (OT) and Bea (aide), bright lights who made my time there bearable. Wheatridge Manor then blew it due to almost killing me with a wrong assessment and a 10-hour treatment delay. After hip replacement surgery, I was an inpatient-rehab resident there for two weeks (March 7-21, 2024)--I did not go anywhere else during this time. On March 21 at 4am, I awakened with symptoms that Lutheran Hospital later diagnosed as strep A sepsis and kidney failure. The nurses had ignored my concerns and only called the ambulance around 2 pm that day due to my friend's firm insistence. Thanks to the ambulance's immediate attention and then the many hours of lifesaving medical care in Lutheran's ER, I am here today to tell my story. Source of sepsis: untreated bug bites (from about 3-19 at Wheatridge Manor) which became infected and then developed into a bad case of cellulitis for which I needed home health wound care for six weeks in addition to my eight-day hospitalization. Eight months later, I continue experiencing sepsis-related health challenges. More details: from the time (around 4am) of my first physical symptoms on the morning of March 21 (pain, uncontrollable shaking, vomiting; a few hours later, expressive aphasia—inability to process language), the night nurse Pam and day nurse Jennifer wrongly assessed me as experiencing a panic attack due to “anxiety” about going home (an additional lack-of-care/complaint is that it does not appear that the nurses ever recorded my symptoms or their wrong diagnosis in my medical record). Pam also lectured me about taking time away from other patients who "really" needed her care (my friend was present for that unpleasant exchange). I was in and out of awareness for the rest of that day. This terrified me (my symptoms as well as being ignored and dismissed by the nursing staff) as I knew something was very, very wrong. Needing support and a witness, I called my friend (retired nurse) who arrived around 5am (stayed with me throughout these difficulties at Wheatridge Manor and then followed the ambulance to the hospital). Finally, around 2pm at Wheatridge, I asked my friend to phone my high school BFF in Houston who’s a doctor. She had two words for us: “Ambulance now!” Nurse Jennifer only made the phone call due to pressure from my witness. I am alive today due to these two dear friends of mine. As you can see, I do not recommend Wheatridge Manor for anyone. Yes, the PT and OT are great, but the rest of the facility lacks adequate, coordinated care. However, if that place seems the best placement for your loved one, make sure to check on them frequently and to advocate for their needs or they may either almost die like me or actually die. Pictures: March 19 (new bug bites near ankle), March 21 at 4am (the infected bug bites), March 27 (at Lutheran Hospital: full blown cellulitis from the sepsis which entered my body through the untreated, infected bug bites).
