Westminster Towers is an awesome facility. It indeed gives me more than I ever anticipated. After visiting and analyzing 10 retirement facilities in the Charlotte-Rock Hill area, I selected this place. I moved here from River Hills and I have lived here 10 years .It has provided every thing I could possibly need. Everything and it is all under one roof. Everything is easily accessible.I still drive but when I turn in my car keys they have me covered . Free local transportation to everywhere you need to go. The staff is well trained , the food is excellent, and best of all it gives me the comfort of total care when I need it. Affordable? Absolutely and when I graduate my sons will receive 75% of the purchase price of my wonderful apartment. When you are looking for a comfortable retirement facility you are not looking for a country club. You need to look at your future and your aging body (!!!!!) will need easy access and a compassionate staff. That's what Westminster Towers offers at an affordable price.
My mom had a great three years at Westminster Towers in the Independent Living area. She needed to move due to her advanced memory loss. The staff at Westminster Towers are great - all very friendly and helpful. She loved her apartment and the residents - especially the people on her floor. If not for her memory issues, we would still be there!
This is a great place to be! The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. They can meet all of your aging needs from: independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehab. They also have in home care (homebridge) which does not cost much at all, but the quality of service is great! I was also shocked at how good pricing is! Love, love, love this community!
My parents moved into Westminster Towers in 2008, upon which a VERY LARGE down payment was required. Their "get em" line was that upon death 75% of this down payment would go back into their estate. During their time living there they increased their rent multiple times, which was ALREADY astronomical! They lived in "Independent" living, so did not need any assistance in regards to "care". For this astronomical rent, they got 1, yes 1, meal a day, use of a "gym" and a pool. Of course they had "activities" like a chorus and a drama club, etc... but nothing extravagant... Well my dad passed in 2011 and my mom this year, in July. The "down payment" has NOT been returned to their estate and we are now being told that this money won't be returned until 6 months AFTER the apartment is rented back out. Now, they have WELL over 20 units open in this place and it could be a very lengthy amount of time before this particular apartment is rented out, months, possibly years. During which they are earning interest on money that doesn't belong to them! This christian/faith based "retirement" community is taking advantage of our elderly. My Mom had to go into their Rehab facility due to having some health issues, that were causing her having trouble holding herself up or walking. During her stay in the Rehab facility, she was dropped and incurred a broken femur, then returned after surgery and became septic and died. I'm not blaming them on my Mother's death, but they surely didn't help her condition. Now they are withholding quite a bit of money from being returned to my parents estate. I'm sure this "legality" was in very small print in their agreement, but I know my Parents had NO idea it would be like this and would have NEVER agreed to such terms had they truly known all of the circumstances surrounding this. I pray that these people that own this facility are exposed as to what they are truly doing to people and that is TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OUR ELDERLY!!!!
