My wife Gail and I are fortunate to have resided at Westminster Oaks since 2012 and we have nothing but positive things to say about all aspects of our living here. Without doubt Westminster is a phenomenal place to live, with activities galore. In addition, there is a beautiful dining room for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is diversified and delicious - and in addition there is a separate Bistro for additional meals, sandwiches, salads and more (including take-out). I am so happy I moved to Westminster Oaks 3 years ago! There are many diverse opportunities to become involved, including volunteer opportunities to help others. The Dining experiences are top notch as well as the robust fitness program led by well experienced professionals. What a great place to enjoy retirement!
Nine Years ago, my husband and I chose to live at Westminster Oaks moving into a Duplex. We were thrilled to be relieved of home ownership because we were traveling the world and wanted to be free of all the issues of maintaining a residence. Our chosen Duplex gave us the most usable space with lots of storage and a small garden. Our move to Parchment Cove was such a wise move. After a year and a half, my husband’s sudden illness and death made if clear that we had made the correct decision for our future. His words to me in the hospital were, “I am so glad that we are at Westminster, and you will be taken care of.” Truer words were never spoken. Over the last years, I have enjoyed making such wonderful friends, enjoyed the many cultural activities available, taken many educational classes through our partnerships with OLLIE, participated in many fitness classes and a personal trainer, enjoyed the luxury of the pool, and have been busy volunteering. Over the last several years I have served on the Resident Council, and being the President gave me an opportunity to collaborate with administration to enhance the involvement of the residents in all aspects of their busy lives. At Westminster Oaks we have over forty committees and activity groups to engage our residents. As you can see, I gave Westminster Oaks five stars and would highly recommend this lifestyle to anyone interested.
Westminster Oaks is a beautiful community, peopled with caring staff and congenial residents. We've lived here for nearly two years and feel it's the right place for us at this stage of our lives. There's always something fun going on. Fitness activities are very important to me, and Westminster's variety and frequency of exercise help me stay healthy and able to participate fully in all that WO has to offer. Westminster Oaks reduces the worries of aging and boosts my enjoyment of life.
Moving to Westminster Oaks was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have become a part of a large, loving family. My most recent highlight is working with the physical therapy area. They have developed a well thought out program and are very good at what they do!
