401 Webster St, Palo Alto, CA 94301, United States
A lovely, very small community with gorgeous rooms, a nice pool, a comfortable dining area, a huge grand piano, and delicious food. I'm really reviewing for the amazing food, see photos. The activities director said she knows everyone by name, and personally. The area is extremely safe and upscale, and everyone I met was smart, kind, and competent.

I moved to Webster House more than a decade ago. It was a smart choice. The House is small, personable, and friendly. Residents are educated. There’s an easy walk to banks, theaters, medical, and emergency services, downtown stores and eateries, pharmacies, the Post Office, and Stanford. Three bus lines stop right here. The free Stanford shuttle passes a few blocks away. The magic is the culture of the House. We all come in determined to protect and enrich our independence. We help each other do that. Management is committed to helping us do for ourselves all that we can. But we all wear out over time. As we do, assistance is here when we need it. That’s the continuing care feature. We also have a highly rated full-service health center. Webster House is distinctive and special.
This house has no cameras and the employees lie to save their jobs and neglect to protect their clients against corrupt caregivers. The report made against yelling and disrespecting the elderly was allowed to continue and they have no way to protect the clients entirely. The food is excellent but they will give caregivers food without their consent and charge the employer of the caregiver. It is a dishonest organization and I would not ever want to be here when I age. I do not trust some caregivers who are not educated and that are not being monitored. Having a psychiatric ward style caregiving home such as with "another caregiving facility or my own home" would be most safe. Webster house is not as safe as you think.
We have lived at Webster House for five years. We are still relatively young and healthy, but we wanted to plan ahead and we wanted to live in downtown Palo Alto. Since we are so close to everything we walk everywhere and we are now a one-car family. We enjoy our neighbors but we also take advantage of the programs and activities in Palo Alto and Stanford. Having a chef prepare our nightly dinner in restaurant setting means we don’t have to cook and we only have to shop for breakfast and lunch.
I was extremely dissatisfied with the care my 93-year-old father received in the skilled nursing facility of Webster house during his September 7th to September 17th, 2019stay, which basically amounted to elderly neglect. Main complaints: My father’s diapers were not changed regularly resulting in a severe groin rash and bed sores which have not healed even with the medication prescribed. For the entire first week he was not given the required three. For the entire first week he was not moved from bed to wheelchair for his meals as required and as agreed upon admission and further discussed with nurses, supervisors and social director. The call button provided does not appear to trigger any response on part of the staff. I can only wonder what would happen in case of an emergency. The leg compression cuff machine was not functioning correctly and was simply turned off and removed. The facility is understaffed with respect to direct care providers while appearing overstaffed with supervisors, managers, social workers, coordinators. Communication of issues between different personnel, during shifts and between shifts, appears completely broken. Linda, the facility manager was unavailable the entire period.
