Webster at Rye is a very special place. Our elderly father was there for a number of years, and was beautifully cared for in the nursing home part of the residence. The Webster "campus" is pretty, with a small woodland, walking paths, a patio, and a spacious gazebo. The facility itself is lovely - clean and bright and comfortable - and as homey as a long-term-care residence could possibly be. The food always seemed tasty, fresh and plentiful; and I noticed a lot of variety too, including seasonal favorites and yummy-looking desserts. Our dad was an enthusiastic and discerning eater and never once complained to us about the food in all the years he was there. Also, there were activities and amusements available every day of the week, including regular "therapy" dogs, games, crafts, patio hang-outs, and actual outings. Additionally, the staff really stepped up to meet our dad's individual needs, which were not insignificant, so he could get about and socialize; and so he could stay in close touch with us. This required above-and-beyond effort, as we all live out of state and our dad needed support to FaceTime between visits. As the above description implies, the staff at Webster is wonderful. All of them- the nurses, assistants, support staff, and activities folks - they could not have been more kind. They showed empathy toward our father and toward us every step of the way, and had energy and humor and enthusiasm. They took the time needed to make us feel comfortable and to get to know our dad as a whole person. Though their jobs are extremely demanding and they all clearly worked hard, the staff never seemed grim or exhausted or cynical; and I noted that there was very little turnover in the main patient care roles at Webster in the years our dad was there. This suggests to me that they are not understaffed, and that they are treated fairly and respectfully by their employers, as they should be. I believe this makes a big difference and helps foster a motivated, creative staff, and an overall positive environment. We are very grateful to Webster at Rye. Our dad passed yesterday morning, and as we were saying our goodbyes after a couple of days at our father's side, we received lots of hugs and heard treasured personal comments about our dad and how much he was appreciated. We will miss Webster, and we could not recommend it more highly.
I have to say it was a very good start at Webster at Rye but sadly after my mother died there was a very fast change from the administration- so very cold and unfriendly. I just asked Angel Blais for a final bill that she should have sent me 6 months ago and I found out that they block your email address after your loved one passes away. How crazy is that?? I had to go through the info@websteratrye to get the bill. This place is as superficial as it gets. Beware.
We had my mom transferred here from a very bad experience at another nursing home. I can’t thank the staff enough for the love and care my mom received here. There was enough staff for the patients. You were welcome to visit and call. The nurses, doctors, rehab and physical therapists and the entire staff were encouraging and kind to her and supportive to us. Melissa Bird, Director of Social Services at Webster was amazing and an angel and she helped us in so many ways. They took the time to get to know about my mom and what her likes and dislikes were. She was a real person and her story, and who she was, mattered to them. It was just a blessing for us to have her end of life be at a such a compassionate place. Our mother was treated at all times with dignity, respect and gentleness. I highly recommend this nursing home. My gratitude for what they did for us and how they helped my mom till her passing is truly something I will never forget.
I have had years of experiences visiting and working with clients who have lived, and some of whom have died here. The staff here are the best in the Seacoast area. I've also worked in half a dozen others of the best facilities around this area, in Exeter, Durham, Portsmouth and Dover. Some of those are also very good. Others appear to be attractive but do not come close to the quality of personnel and genuine caring displayed universally at Webster at Rye. This is where I would choose to live, or have my own parents reside, if/when necessary. Private Carer 18 yrs exp. Thank You Webster at Rye!
