After my father died, I moved my mother to memory care in Beaverton in April 2023. Even though Waterhouse Ridge had a very low review score, I chose it, because at the time, it was clean, it didn't smell, and it was close to my house making it easier to visit my mother. Since that time, the management and care staff have completely changed. The current management staff have addressed the issues which were present when I first moved my mother into the facility. I have found the current caregivers, to be very attentive to my mother's needs and to treat her like a family member as opposed to another old lady with dementia. My mother passed away 2 weeks ago, but I'm glad I had her in Waterhouse Ridge and I certainly would recommend this facility to my friends and family who were in need of their services.

My mother was here for 2 years. They were placed under State oversite because of so many errors with the residents. Unbelievable problems. Drugs mismanaged, drugs stolen from nursing station, staff shortages, stealing food that I brought for my mother, high turnover in staff, rules changing often, etc. My mother passed away 3+ months ago and I still have not received my rent refund. They say it keeps getting lost in the mail. They lie and are not trust worthy. Try Laurel Parc in bethany instead.
Waterhouse Ridge is a mixed bag. The strength is in caregivers who deeply care for residents and are skilled at engaging them in a caring and meaningful way. Other caregivers are less amazing and just seem to be waiting for their shift to end, but that is to be expected from an under-paid (and often under-trained) workforce. It is a difficult job. If your loved one is relatively stable and doesn't have medical needs, this is a good environment for activities and social engagement. There are a number of younger, more active residents that make the environment vibrant. However, there are serious training and communication issues among management that trickle down to staff. Many staff members are not properly trained and management fails to take responsibility. Meeting basic medical needs seems to be a struggle here (issues include prescriptions not filled in a timely manner, poor communication with outside medical providers, and lack of qualified staff to evaluate/handle medical issues). Turnover is high at this facility and it is clear that whoever is at the top of this organization is only interested in profit. The facility itself is well-designed with nice indoor and outdoor spaces but it is run on a shoestring budget. After hours they keep the front door propped open with a ballpoint pen rather than staff a nighttime receptionist or install a proper secure entrance. The ratio of staff to residents is bare minimum and outside of M-F 9-5 there is no one on duty who is qualified to take responsibility for the care of these vulnerable residents. There are serious issues with sanitation. Residents' rooms are often filthy and are never deep-cleaned as promised. Laundry is often mixed so you will find your loved one's clothing and bedding disappearing. Housekeeping is NOT a strength. There is a lot of potential here in this facility, but sadly it is wasted by greedy executives who care more about profit than people. Very disappointing.
My Mom was a resident there. She was so unhappy at her former assisted care home. I moved her to Waterhouse Ridge this last summer, and she lived out the rest of her life with loving care and comfort. The staff took excellent care of her and worked well as a team with hospice, ensuring loving care and support in her final days. I recommend this home to anyone looking for a caring, clean, experienced facility for your loved one.
Worst facility you could work, or have loved ones stay at, Please don't bring them here. Samantha is a manipulator and a liar. The caregiving staff here are wonderful and have so much empathy and compassion in their hearts for these residents, they do very much care, and I have met such amazing individuals that do above and beyond in their position to bring them that joy and happiness. But they will also keep aides at this facility that have neglected residents leaving residents on the ground without assistance, having teased residents like they aren't even human it's immoral and disgusting, they have been reported and nothing occurs afterwards towards those workers, probably working there still to this day, and have witnessed few aides at night sleeping on the clock while there are residents needing help they need to be on watch, 1st day of training I was told to wake a trainer up while they slept if anything were to happen. Loads of unwanted drama between staff that'll talk behind ones back. Really look into reviews before coming here.
