My mom has dementia and aphasia and has been in the memory care unit since January. I can’t say enough good things about this facility. My mom is incredibly well taken care of and her being there has afforded me a peace of mind I hadn’t had in a few years. The staff is amazing and really cares for the residents. There seems to be low turnover. Sheryl (the Wellness Coordinator) is fantastic with the residents and has become my mom’s go-to person for any needs when I’m not there. And Rachel (the Life Enrichment Manager) is an absolute gem- she is the perfect person in the perfect job for her. She coordinates fun activities and field trip and adventures and makes sure to memorialize these with pictures and videos which she frequently shares. It’s like having a kid away at summer camp. I have been thrilled with the way the program is run and I know my mom is well taken care of.

My mother has been living in Waltonwood Assisted Living for nearly 2 years and has always received kind, patient, and compassionate care. The staff at all levels have provided superb care and attention in addition to responding timely to any concerns I had about my mom's health. Waltonwood provides a lovely, safe, healthy environment that my mom can live well and thrive in. I've been impressed by how well the Waltonwood staff have gotten to know my mother. Living close by enabled me to first-hand visit periodically to validate everything I am expressing here. My mom enjoys a nice circle of friends in the dining room, afternoon music concerts, pet visits, etc. I highly recommend Waltonwood retirement community for any other families looking for a well-run, friendly place for your loved ones.
My Mom was there for 1 1/2 years. I lost her a few months ago and the staff at Waltonwood was amazing as she went through her transition. They were honest and caring and worked hard to make sure my Mom was comfortable in her final days. I was very pleased overall and appreciate the staff so much! Megan, Jess, Maria, Trish and so many others made my Moms final days as comfortable as possible both for her and for us. The facility itself is beautiful. Nice size rooms, fairly new, and great common areas including a moviie theatre that my Mom loved!
I brought my parents up from FL 6 months ago to move into Waltonwood. They have enjoyed residing in both Independent and Assisted Living. The entire staff is dedicated and works hard to ensure that the physical and emotional needs of my parents are met at every level. For example, Waltonwood staff provide the needed support and care to my parents, one with physical limitations and the other with dementia. In addition, the staff are always friendly and helpful which means a great deal to us. The concierge, medical techs, aides, nurses and administrative staff have treated my parents with respect and compassion like they were members of their own family. I felt very supported whenever issues came up with their care. My parents feel that the food is top-rate, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the educational activities (art history lectures, Great Courses, movies and music programs) have been very enriching. My family feels this is a wonderful community.
I am grateful every day for the kind, loving and generous staff taking care of my Dad at Waltonwood, Ashburn. He lived a year in Independent Living where I would have gladly moved myself because I was so impressed with the wonderful happy staff and beautiful building/interiors. After about a year, dad needed more help with medications so we moved him to Assisted Living. He lived happily there for another year until illness required us to move him to memory care. Thankfully, he has been happy in memory care too! The staff sends us photos & videos of dad doing all sorts of activities including: jewelry making, valentines hearts, dancing with staff and visits to outside restaurants for lunch. There is always something going on and he is encouraged to get out of his room and enjoy life. Waltonwood is in the business of senior care but they are also in the business of providing comfort and support to the families. I recommend them without reservation.
