Incredibly beautiful development Like many relatives, you struggle with the decision to place your mother in a retirement home. Words from the nursing service manager that the needs of the new roommate would be taken into account and that the staff would closely monitor and evaluate what activities were possible sounded too good to be true. After a month, me and my mother are super happy to have made the decision. The nursing staff are incredibly friendly, warm-hearted and always tell me how my mother is doing. She sits in a good mood while eating, doing an activity such as painting or reading in her now beautifully furnished room. Having lived alone for 20 years, she enjoys communication with the care team and roommates and of course eating regularly in the community. I can at least warmly recommend the Vitanas in Sonnenberg (my mother lives on the 3rd floor) to all relatives, especially children, who have a guilty conscience about taking this step.

My mother was only able to live here for a few weeks, but we found that time very pleasant. She was lovingly cared for by everyone, including the “temporary staff”. The food was presented with dignity, even if everything was pureed. The in-house kitchen makes a very good impression. The opportunity to sit outside in peace and go into the foothills of the spa park was ideal. She was very well supported in her last hours so that she did not suffer any noticeable pain. My mother-in-law spent her last seven months here, and my father-in-law spent his last 13 months here. The entire family is very grateful for the excellent care and support they received there. From the very beginning, we felt warmly welcomed, and the entire team was very empathetic and helpful. The quality of care was very good. The staff was not only extremely competent and professional, but also very caring and attentive. The facilities and environment of the nursing home are excellent. The rooms and common areas were always clean and well-maintained. We were particularly impressed by the warmth and empathy of the staff. They were a great support not only to the parents, but also to us as a family. During this difficult time, we could always rely on them being in good hands and lovingly cared for. The care and professionalism experienced there made my parents'/in-law's last months as pleasant and dignified as possible. For this, we are infinitely grateful.
The care is not only professional but also warm and shows a great deal of understanding for people and their age-appropriate needs. This is infinitely valuable and the most important thing of all. My greatest thanks go to the staff of the facility. The location near the spa park is also wonderful for strolling. If grandchildren or great-grandchildren are visiting, two great playgrounds invite you to linger and have a picnic together. The immediate proximity to the Hofgartenplatz with its ice cream parlor, restaurant, and Edeka supermarket, as well as the excellent connections to the city, are further advantages.
My mother has been at the Vitanas facility in Sonnenberg for over two years. Unfortunately, her health has deteriorated significantly in recent weeks. She now requires intensive nursing and medical care. The nursing director also recommended a palliative care service and provided me with detailed information about it. The palliative care service has been caring for my mother for two weeks now. I can only say that this organization is highly recommended and takes loving care of my mother. The entire Vitanas team is incredibly wonderful and professional. I have the utmost respect for their services. The intensive care is a huge challenge for every member of the team – simply a huge THANK YOU. I would especially like to mention the fantastic facility. The gardens are very beautiful, and the location by the spa park is a dream. The interior areas are also always lovingly decorated. I visit the facility very often and can highly recommend this senior center.
