1261 5th Ave, New York, NY 10029, United States
This place is just amazing. From its location, to the diversity of its residents, to the attentive medical staff and its clean facilities, we feel so lucky to have found Vista on 5th. Since my mother moved in, she couldn't be happier and is now getting the support she needs. The process of her intake was done in a patient, efficient and professional manner. The entire staff went above and beyond to introduce us to everything Vista has to offer. With everyone being so warm and welcoming it has given my mother and I a sense of calm and immense feelings of gratitude for all they do. With incredible views of Central Park and inspiring activities to keep my mother engaged she can continue living like the New Yorker she loves to be!

I'm so happy that my dad is living at Vista! What I like most is that he is happy living there. The staff creates a caring, warm and supportive environment in which my dad receives the help he needs and can also continue to do the things he loves. He is enjoying the many activities, the community of other residents, the beautiful common spaces and his nicely sized studio apt. I always look forward to visiting my dad there. I would highly recommend Vista to anyone who is looking for this type of facility. Just the views of Central Park from the dining room make it worth a visit :) My dad and I toured a few other facilities around NYC this year, Vista seemed far and away the best!
We had been trying to get our elderly father into Vista on 5th for a while to get him out of a rehabilitation care center which was long overdue. The transfer kept getting delayed because of lack of communication and support on the exiting end. At the time, Admissions at Vista seemed slightly disorganized but when we were finally able to get a tour, the premises were very nice and clean, with each resident having their own "studio,'" so to speak, with communal dining and activities. Since then, there's been a "changing of the guard" at Vista and the new staff in Admissions were instrumental and professional at facilitating our father's rapid transfer as soon as they took over. The staff, including his case managers and the monitors at the entrance, are all very helpful, communicative, and responsive to his needs; and more importantly, he seems very happy to be there, which quite frankly, is all that matters to us.
From the moment I stepped foot in this assisted living facility, I knew it was the place for my mother. She has macular degeneration so I was the one to do the homework on places for her to stay. The rooms are generous with kitchenettes and many have views of Central Park. The staff is friendly and caring and she is even able to play bingo with the help of recreational assistants. Other activities she enjoys include physical therapy, musical entertainment, and her weekly appointment with the hair salon! I am happy that nurses and a Doctor are on site if anything should happen to her. If she needs help with anything, all she has to do is push a button around her neck and staff will come to assist her. Vista on 5th is a wonderful place for your loved one if they need an assisted living facility.
Some years ago I formed a group of singers from the Juilliard Evening Division. We've been giving concerts at VISTA since way back before COVID when it was called LOTT. We’ve always loved performing there for many reasons: 1) The Residents are friendly and enthusiastic. They are always interested in learning something new about music. It’s not unusual for them to offer bits of showbiz history or to join with the singing. They always welcome us when we arrive and also come up to us after the performance to chat. 2) The Staff is friendly and extremely helpful. The director is very organized and we have great communication which is SO appreciated!. Also, the desk receptionist and aides always greet us with a smile and everyone is happy to help with set up. 3) The Environment is well suited to our music programs. The facility is neat, clean and welcoming. Putting the acoustic grand piano in the front lobby creates a true musical experience in a homey parlor-like atmosphere. There is ample seating in comfortable chairs that are placed so there is good visibility and acoustics and so that should there be any latecomers they can easily take a seat without disturbing the performers or audience. Yet what we really appreciate and enjoy is 4) The Attitude of everyone at VISTA. Both the Residents’ needs and Music are truly appreciated. This makes it a genuine pleasure creating monthly programs that are therapeutically effective as well as culturally interesting and entertaining. Bottom line: There is a feeling of mutual respect, purpose and enjoyment. Can’t get much better than that! Thank you VISTA!
