I had a friend admitted at Village Shalom for hospice. For the 3 weeks he was there the staff couldn’t have been kinder. This is an awful, uncomfortable situation. They never made us feel like we asked stupid questions, or requested too much. They were considerate, informative, attentive, gentle, compassionate, and accommodating. Just wonderful. My mother-in-law, Ruth Margolies, was often a difficult person to please but she loved living at Village Shalom. She never failed to rave about the wonderful care and the food. She always praised her caregivers and insisted: “I have no complaints.” In her final days, the care was so gentle and kind. Our warmest thanks go to everyone involved in her end-of-life care, especially to Jan and the staff from Monarch Hospice, and the extraordinary Village Shalom nurses. Rhonda, Jaci and Chasity, you are true angels. You communicated with me at every turn and were unceasingly honest, helpful and kind. Our family is forever grateful to all of you for your dedication to excellence.
My mom was in village shalom. She received the best possible care. Employees don't just work there for $, they care about the residents. Best in Kansas city area for sure.
We recently moved into the independent living section of the Village Shalom retirement community--and it is everything we hoped it would be. The established residents have been welcoming and have gone out of their way to get us oriented and included. Staff members (from housekeeping, building maintenance, food service, fitness, programming, etc) have been friendly, helpful, and committed to getting us acclimated, comfortable and involved. The restaurant offers a wide variety of fresh, high quality and healthy food—all served with a smile. We have been very pleased with our transition from home ownership to senior living at Village Shalom.
The events that have been planned for the community like family photos and fall family event have been a blast to attend and also informative information about Village Shalom. It helped me to see the community and what the community has to offer.
