500 Village Pl, Longwood, FL 32779, United States
The decision we made to move to Village on the Green was the best decision we ever made in our life. We found, unexpectedly, very accomplished people - writers, inventors, artists, etc. People want to know about your life and family, not your religion or political affiliation. We've only been here five months and already have lifelong friends. This place is full of people ready to cultivate fun and friendship. We made this decision with the blessing of our children. They now have the comfort of knowing that we will be well cared for the rest of our lives.

We will be moving to VOTG in April. We were impressed the minute we drove through the gate. It gave us a feeling of a country club community. The staff have been wonderful to work with as we update our apartment to fit our needs and make it our forever home. The club house is beautiful decorated. The few times we have eaten in the dining room the service and the food has been excellent. The local is near all the big box stores, malls and restaurants. Easy access to two airports, beaches and cruise port. We have friends we have known for 12 years who have lived there for 2 years and love it! We can’t wait to move in and start making new friends and have care free lifestyle. Marc and Patti
Having been a widow for seven years, my sister-in-law sold her house and moved into Village on the Green, Longwood, Florida. Beautiful facility. Her ample one-bedroom apartment is very nice, structured with current features and all the conveniences of a home. It's a good community feeling here and she feels very secure. The management listens to the residents and asks for their suggestions. We had stayed for Thanksgiving. The buffet included a salad bar, seafood bar, chicken, cod, turkey, etc. and a generous dessert bar. After the large meal, we went for a walk along the nature path, then back into the building and indulged into activities. We played ping pong, pool and darts. There is also a nice weight room with modern equipment, outside pool, hot tub. Walking back to her apartment, we played a game of bocce ball outside. My sister-in-law said she loves the place and I see they love her, too. It suits her to a tea :)
Worst place ever. My mother is on oxygen 24/7. They knew that before she was admitted. They are trying to “find” an oxygen generator for her. Meanwhile they are changing her green tank every 3 hours. They lost her discharge packet that was brought with her upon arrival. Very slow response when she calls for help. She asked for help to get in wheelchair and go in bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth and was told “It’s not your day to take a bath.” by some rude worker. She didn’t even help her get in the wheelchair. She was very condescending and rude.
Recently I was asked what my feelings are about Village on the Green. I could only reply with one word: Wonderful! Just to give you some ideas. My day starts as I walk into the club house where I'm greeted with a big hello by our delightful concierge. It's the people who live and work here that make this place so special. The staff I believe is trained never to say no; they will always try. Now to meet so many new friends as we all partake in our complimentary buffet breakfast. The food in our main dining room is very good, but our new Chef's Table and brand new bar menu are both exceptional. I suggest the onion soup or 8 oz filet. Wow! Now to plan my day. Which activity do I want? To read my book from our extensive library or even better, I love all the activities. What to do? Darts, ping pong, crafting, study group, Sweating with Helen,Tai Chi, Campus walks or Aqua fit . There are so many activities it's hard to choose. Can you believe you can have a personal trainer at no charge? I love it here. It's a little like summer camp. The activities are endless. A trip to New Smyrna Beach, or a museum. Super bowl parties,Casino Night or Karaoke. They are all special, but sometimes things happen. Recently I was hospitalized and consequently needed rehab at the Oaks (our skilled nursing facility). The experience could not have been better. The care and surroundings were outstanding. The nurses and aids were attentive and kind and I got much better. As I was getting a little older I realized that an independent community would be best for my needs. I looked at several communities and both my family and I know that I made an exceptional choice as I'm very very happy here. Harold Gottschall
