I can't say enough about the wonderful experience my Dad had while at Via Elegante Vineyard. He was warmly welcomed upon admission which made the process so much easier for our family. The Via Elegante staff is professional and so compassionate with the residents. I observed the care provided to other residents as well, and working in the healthcare area I am very critical about facility operations and how administration as well as the individuals in the caregiving positions interact with their clientele. The communication from the facility staff to family could not be better. We received routine updates on our Dad and how he was adjusting, as well as clinical updates from the nursing staff. Ira and Zach addressed all the questions we had during our decision process. They continued to ensure we were getting what we needed from staff. Vanessa, Jenny, Karen and others provided updates to us in a timely manner. And most importantly, our Dad loved his experience there and was very complimentary about the staff as well as the food! He gained 5 lbs. the first week he was there! He is a fussy Norwegian, so this was so unexpected for us to hear no complaints from him about his meals. I heartily recommend the Via Elegante Assisted Living facility(ies). Although we moved Dad to the midwest to be closer to family, he wants to go back to Tucson and Via Elegante again in the Winter. He's 96 years young, and the experience at Via Elegante Vineyard has certainly contributed to his continued zest for life and made him a happy individual through his aging process. We offer so many thanks to the knowledgeable and professional staff at Via Elegante and heartily recommend this facility to anyone wanting a compassionate, professional and safe place for their loved one. There are not enough words to convey the gratitude I feel for all of the staff at Via Eleganté. My parents have been residents there for almost 2 years. From the moment we arrive the staff made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to help my parents transition into assisted living. When I was having trouble getting the furniture company to deliver a mattress during business hours. The maintenance staff volunteered and actually went to the furniture company warehouse and picked up the mattress for us. It was such a relief and so helpful at what was a very stressful time for our family. This is just one example of the kind and compassionate care that all of the Staff at Via Eleganté show to their residence & their families. I work in healthcare and from the moment I arrived at Via Elegante knew that this place was special. The staff here have a real passion for what they do & it shows.
For the first draft of writing this review I wrote 5 pages. To keep it short : my husband and I will become residents when we need to move to assisted living and memory care. The first facility I visited was via elegante mountain. Their philosophy of the setting and the quality of staff and care giving impressed me so much. I told my agent I wanted mom to live there. I first thought the cost was prohibitive so I checked out literally almost everywhere in tucson, some 1 hour away from my house. I would even stay half a day at many places to see if it was a good fit for mom. I went back to via elegante mountain just to see it again. I found out they participate with ALTEC. ( they probably told me about it before but I didn't realize the importance). ALTEC means Mom would never have to move when she spent down all her money It is worth every penny she pays now to have my mom stay in this wonderful place and be able to have the stability of place , care, and people as she declines. Without the trauma of moving again. When I speak of the facility or staff I am Including everyone. I can't say enough about every aspect of care she receives. The staff know moms personality, habits and preferences. I am there quite often so I have witnessed that people on ALTEC receive the same care as paying residents. Mom surprisingly adapted to via elegante mountain much better than expected and even improved in many ways when she came here. We have been through falls and illnesses here. The whole staff have given excellent care and attention. When mom had a broken toe I developed bronchitis and was unable to be with her, the care and communication was wonderful. I knew that if I ever went on vacation mom was in good hands. The staff also listens to family and residents. When mom first came I met with each staff member many many times with concerns and questions. They are so patient with me. They often had already addressed things I had concerns about as well as patiently taking notes while I talked in circles ( sad personality thing I have). Why did I have any concerns? Quilt. Mom was in a nice place in Colorado. ( completely different type of facility ) had her home in Colorado for 30 year. We had to drag her here to be closer. I'm not the favorite child so I wanted everything perfectly suited to her. ( making up for my teenage years🙂) It is perfect for her needs and personality. Music has been the biggest consolation and joy in her life. She loves the music concerts. If she didn't have balance issues she would be dancing. I enjoy the activities also. They make sure she is aware of activities and encourage her to attend. She forgets so easily even if you tell her the same morning. Often they will escort her. ( I used to pay 100.00 a month just for one reminder in Colorado). Of course she wants to live with us but she would have no social life or music other than radio. She would not be safe at my house for many reasons ( steps, wondering, burning things , medication, nursing.... the list goes on and on.. Have I written 5 pages yet? Does Mom complain, of course. But I can always check with staff about what's really happening. ( I know I probably give them more work than the residents. 🙂) Is it perfect, no. Can there be problems, yes. For our needs it's great. My husband and I will definitely be here, hopefully not too soon.🙂
My mom is a resident at Via Elegante Tucson Mountains and the love and care she receives from the staff and care providers has had a very positive impact on her recovery. Her overall health has improved, she is happy and content. She loves sitting outside soaking up the sun in the court yard, as well playing Bingo, arts and crafts, listening to music, coloring in her many books, and on occasion chair yoga. During this past 18 months the staff at Via Elegante have worked very hard protecting the residents during the pandemic while also keeping them stimulated and looking forward to each new day. I appreciate all that they do and I am forever thankful to have found this wonderful haven that my mom now calls home.
My beautiful Mom was Via from March 2022 through August 2022. She had the best care givers. Shelby played Bingo with them and when they won they got chocolate, everyone's favorite prize. Today marks the first year of her passing. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't Thank Via for the wonderful and loving care she got there. I want to do a special shout out to Ira!!! From the 1st day she met my Mom she knew she was loved by Ira. Ira made a bed up for us the last 14 days of my Mom's life. My brother, sister and myself spent nights next to her bed. They brought us food, drinks anything we needed. The day my Mom passed Ira made her transition so beautiful. I truly admire her for showing so much love to all of her residents. I love them all from the front desk to the chefs. You will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you Via!!!
