My brother was a patient at Vero. He was there for 3 months while going through Hospice. The staff did a wonderful job taking care of him. I am so appreciative for their support and care during a very difficult time. They were also very supportive of the family. Much love and appreciation for the center and everyone who works there. We couldn’t have done this without you.

Vero Health should be shut down, I wouldn’t send my dog there for a day. The way they treat their residents is inhumane. I’ve worked in several facilities and this one is by far the worst facility I have ever worked in. The residents don’t get changed, instead they lay in their urine, the food looks like slop, and residents go weeks without having a shower. The last time I worked there a resident who had the flu asked for Tylenol for 6 hours and the nurse wouldn’t give him any. To anyone thinking about sending their loved one to this place, DONT. The only good thing I’ve witnessed was their therapy department, other than that this place is the “hood” of nursing homes.
A family member spent two weeks here for physical therapy rehabilitation after an accident and was discharged today. It was the best decision that could have been made! The staff care was excellent, physical and occupational therapy staff were exceptional as was social worker Claudia. My family member also said the food was excellent and this compliment comes from a good cook. The facility is clean and other residents that I saw looked well cared for and content. There is no question in my mind that the progress made in just two weeks’ time was due to the care received at Vero. If someone is looking for a short-term physical therapy rehab facility, this is the place to go! (And, after spending over 30 years working in healthcare, I’m picky about the care that my family receives.)
I would not put any of your loved ones into vero or work there my mother was a housekeeper there and the housekeepers are not permitted to touch anything that is soiled or has any kind bodily fluids on it she went to clean a room and one of the residents had used the bathroom on themselves and on their bed so my mother let the head of housekeeping know about it and the next day when she went in to work nothing had been changed the resident or the bedding and when she said something to the head housekeeper about it he decided that they needed to let her go these people do not care about the residents at all and don’t like being questioned or confronted so please make the smart choice and stay away from this place
Vero Health & Rehab of Sylva has been a life saver for my sister and I since our Dad’s health has declined. There are so many great and caring people who have helped us figure it out. Kudos to Claudia for helping to navigate this new journey and you can see she really cares about her residents. Kathy who pushes dad to do his best physically,. April who has given me great advice and encouragement. And then there’s Betty who is an angel on earth and we are so lucky to have her helping my dad. And we can’t forget Tamika! We love you girl! There are so many more, I can’t remember everyone’s name but I know their faces and I won’t forget them for their help. It does take a village.
