My almost 90 year old mom moved into Vernon Terrace last August. She receives excellent care here and the experience has allowed our family to have the peace of mind that she is safe, happy and fulfilled. The facility is well maintained, offers excellent meals and plenty of activities. In addition, her apartment is very well appointed and comfortable. This move has been very positive and it is a relief to not have to worry that my mom is getting the care she needs. Great senior living experience!

We came here kicking and fighting as we did not want to leave our personal residence after so many years. After being here three months we know this was the right decision and for so many reasons. Being within walking distance of a grocery , hardware and drug stores, library, senior center and church are all huge bonuses we didn’t think much about when originally making our decision. Also, the bus service to shopping and medical appointments is huge. All of these conveniences combined with the caring and friendly attitude of the staff, from the Director to dining room staff, make Vernon Terrace a very special place. Now, we’re glad to be here!
Vernon Terrace has been a blessing for our family. My mother moved from a different memory care community that wasn’t as good a fit. The people that work at Vernon Terrace are truly devoted to their jobs and treat my mother with such kindness and patience. My dad visits everyday day and he feels so welcome there. VT has very high standards in who they hire, how they run the building and how they take care of their residents. I encourage anyone looking for a wonderful neighborhood senior living community to put Vernon Terrace on your list to visit.
My mom didn't want to leave her home of 57 years, but she agreed a Senior Living Community would be safer and provide her a more social setting. We chose Vernon Terrace late last summer because it was a well appointed and maintained facility, not to mention a great location. I'm pleased to see that my mom has been taking advantage of all the activities and events at VT. She plays bingo, goes to movies, exercise class, etc. She uses the van service taking her on group activities to places like Murry's Steak House, Red Lobster, the Swedish Institute, drives through Edina to see the Christmas lights, and shopping. The facilities speak for themselves, but the staff are what make it so great. Whether its the front desk receptionists, maintenance folks, van driver, or management staff and supervisors, they all know my mom by name, making her feel welcome and safe. For me, its peace of mind seeing her flourish and knowing she's in good hands.
My parents moved here in 2011 and enjoyed it from the start. Their apartment was spacious and quiet and the neighbors friendly. Management and staff are kind, efficient and responsive to residents. The underground parking was a big plus, food services are comprehensive, and assisted care takes many forms. There are also so many activities and services for residents. After the death of one parent, my other parent moved into the memory care unit, called The Willows. We considered other memory care facilities but this one stood out because it is relatively small and the apartments are so big compared to every other place we saw. The Vernon Terrace staff, as well as the aides and nurses from care provider LifeSprk, are particularly attentive. They organize and lead activities all day long for the residents, including outings once or twice a week. At the same time, residents are free to opt out of those activities and live their own lives. The staff and residents form a lively little community where friends and relatives always feel welcome.
