Have had cause to visit a resident in transition care over the last 4 weeks, the staff have been consistently friendly, cheerful and helpful. My friend is in her mid 80s, bouncing back from a number of falls. She enjoys the interaction with other residents, especially the daily group physio sessions. And no complaints about the catering choices and quality, including Friday bbqs. She's in good hands.

My father is a resident here and we couldn’t be happier. The nurses and staff are caring and consistent. I love the way that the staff knows my dad’s name, remembers how he likes his food even how he likes his coffee. There is always activities going on and my dad especially likes the little cafe there where he can ‘shout’ us coffee and cake.
Every single experience/interaction my partner and I have had with Uniting had managed to be unforgettably horrible. When we first went to Wesley Gardens to visit someone in respite care last November, we saw this lady in the room on the ground floor who had fallen down as she was lying on the ground. It was not near the main entrance, and there didn’t seem to be any staff stationed there or even checking in on the residents. We were there for about 10-15 minutes, desperately pressing the bell and phoning them, when a staff finally came over, and the lady finally got some help. You would think that in an Aged Care Facility, they would be more attentive to their residents, or at least have a better safety plan in case someone had fallen down. God knows how long the poor lady had been lying on the ground for waiting for someone to help her. The second time we were there again, the staff at the reception was extremely rude to us. You know, the good o eye-rolling, condescending tone and “don’t stay long!”. We did not know about the visiting hours as that was not explained to us previously when we got in at around the same time (4pm or so). I get that it was our fault, but her attitude was unprofessional and uncalled for. We have also spoken with Yvonne, who was very unpleasant and sounded like she was half shouting over the phone. Whilst Uniting paints such a nice picture of activities and facilities for the residents to access during their stay, they do not actually provide adequate support or encouragement for the residents to feel at home there nor to engage in those activities. What good are activities and plans when they do not encourage participation??
Visited elderly relative. Pleasing to see that Covid 19 safety rules are still being enforced. Staff are welcoming to visitors and show care and concern for the residents. Building interior is clean and inviting. Great coffee shop run by family volunteers. Meals ample and tasty. Loads of activities for residents. Recommended as an aged care facility.
Have family in the high care nursing home.Senior staff like Cathy, Paul & Cheryl always helpful and caring. Facilities in Luke Centre are a bit tired, but the layout of the floor space in public areas is good and the staff are attentive and look after the patients very in a caring manner. Some rooms have spetacular bush views. Have been to other homes and feel this facility is well worth looking at.
