All the carers I met were absolutely lovely. However, the blonde lady with a lot of eyeliner around on was firstly too busy to open the door to let me in. She then proceeded to look and speak to me like I was the enemy. It's not your inexperienced business to behave in this manner towards visiting family members when you have never met them and have no idea of the connection or their history to the resident. The carers at tricare that I met get 5 stars. The reception person gets 0 and needs to check her attitude and receive further training in reception duties and empathy.

Just an awful experience with this place. Most staff and management were rude and uncaring. My elderly mother is still traumatised from her tour from hell there.. The rooms we saw were filthy and vinyl flooring was lifting up etc...walls in the room were old and stained... Lost count of the old people we saw in there rooms alone just staring at the wall... Our tour guide Angela was so cold and rude towards my elderly mother... We just felt like a bother and a nuisance.. My mother was begging us not to put her in there after her experience... Thank goodness we have found an awesome place for mum to go... Theres no comparison to what we experienced at Tri care. I strongly do not recommend Tri care at upper mt gravatt
For anyone out there who have elderly parents and are looking at the move to an Aged Care Facility....I just want to sing the praises of our experience with TriCare Aged Care and Retirement Living and Tricare Mt Gravatt Nursing Centre. Since Mum's decision to move in to Care from Hospital and our first contacts with Aged Care facilities, we have been nothing but impressed with TriCare. Their Head Office has been generously helpful in answering questions and helping us understand the process, not only with TriCare but with Centrelink. Trust me it is a mammoth pile of paperwork you have to wade through, it is confusing and detailed and you feel a little intrusive in your parents matters/finances. But it has been surprising and stunning the time TriCare's staff has taken to help us through it. Right up to my phone call today to their Accounts Dept to query the Means Tested Daily Accom Fee. The facility is clean and bright and full of artwork. The garden is surrounded by outdoor seating under umbrellas and a delightful self service Cafe with a decent automated coffee machine for free. On the weekends they seem to put out muffins and treats. There is a library of books and magazines. There is daily exercise classes and activities. A wee little Hair Salon too. Bar 2 night time carers who were a bit rough in attitude and manner to Mum on two nights....all the other staff are kind and lovely to Mum. When she was upset about these two particular staff, the RN's were straight on to reporting it to the Manager of the facility and reassuring Mum they wouldn't be on in her area again. They comforted her and told her she is safe. The Manager Aurora took it seriously, spoke to Mum took down details for a report. This made Mum feel very relieved. Now 2 weeks there and how settled in she looks is wonderful and a relief. All made possible by the wonderful attentive, caring staff, nurses, physios and Doctors. Our thanks to Manager Aurora, RN Vishu, Dr King, Joe the Physio, and all the lovely carers in G wing and thank you to Amjid and Andrew at Head Office.
As a visitor I found some staff were terrible. There was a high turner over of staff and management which suggests a terrible workplace. .
