We had an unbelievable experience with Donyelle and the staff. They treated us with respect, kindness and understanding when we lost our loved one before she could even move in. It is a beautiful establishment and I would highly recommend them.
I noticed while reading reviews, the owner appears to reply only to the highly favorable ones. In my opinion, it implies a willingness to ignore instead of addressing concerns. I'd work on that due to senior communities having a reputation for bullying due to the actions of the on-site Manager's and staff's unprofessionalism.
It is a nice place. But some of the staff (CNAs and nurse) that I personally met are not trained properly and are very rude. They do not care about the safety and hygiene of my resident. I don’t want to put anyone in trouble. But it’s inacceptable to treat people like this. They need to start treating people with kindness, respect, and dignity.
Finding a new home for a loved one who needs continuous care can be a challenge. There are many facilities but they are not all the same. Tribute at Melford of Bowie stood out to our family for several reasons. The environment is warm, inviting, clean and modern. All staff members we encountered were professional, attentive to residents, engaged with us and invited all questions about the facility, resident care and policies/procedures. As I browsed during the tour facilitated by Kenny Reynolds, Community Relations Director, I could see residents who appeared to be comfortably watching movies, dining and socializing in the beautiful dining hall and participating in activities throughout the facility. Having a clinical staff on-site to provide medical and pharmaceutical services represents another distinguished level of service that is not readily available at other assisted living facilities. Since becoming a part of the Melford family, our initial impressions have been affirmed. Tribute at Melford in Bowie, MD is EXCELLENCE beginning with the Executive Director, Ms. Rita Chapman, to her executive business and clinical teams, to administrative, caretakers and dining hall staff. I highly recommend this extension of home as a place for your loved one.
