I was a member a few years ago. Two times the person scheduled to give me a ride to an appointment canceled. The second time that happened I got upset. And then I cancelled my membership. I was then in the hospital for 7 weeks and called Trails. I was completely isolated with no way to get it out and no family or friends at that time. The director talk to me and said I could not rejoin. She sounded somewhat angry. I was isolated before when the appointments were canceled. Maybe I got a little upset but I did not deserve the way she talked to me and would not let me rejoin. I was isolated a few more years before I found a social worker and got on Medicaid and now I private pay for a home health care. I don't think this city or state is that great with helping senior citizens unless they're pretty functioning. I would not recommend Trails to anyone.

The mission of TRAIL is to help older adults successfully age in place by providing Tools and Resources for Active, Independent Living. The non-profit offers members a social calendar, a listing of vetted local service vendors, and volunteers to help with a variety of needs. I am a member and volunteer. It is a great organization offering contact and security as we age.
What a wonderful organization with lots of volunteer and social activities to keep me active and engaged, with friendly volunteers to help with small chores around the house, and a terrific community within a community that allows me to age gracefully, safely and actively in my house. My social life is enhanced, and now I know I can stay in my home with the help of TRAIL and it's wonderful service and helpful staff.
We are so lucky to live in this vibrant community, even us older citizens. There’s a lot to do and ways to share our lives, but sometimes we just need a little boost. That’s where TRAIL comes in, to help us stay active and in the comfort of our own homes. Note that even if you are on a limited income you can get the services of TRAIL volunteers.
