I do not think this place is OK for living. My cousin is currently there now we can not go see him now not giving him our calls. Their picking the phone up and hanging up on us. He does not want to be there he does have mental issues. He wants to come home. They will not let him go and we are his only family left. He has lost more weight being there, they said he doesn't want to get put of bed. Like don't you guys get paid for this? I think this is extremely unfair and against all patoent rights. This whole staff has been extremely disrespectful to the family he does has left. All their doing is causing issues for themselves as far as holding a human against their will. This place needs to be closed down. When I could go there to visit no employee can handle raking care of any patients they would get annoyed and just ignore their needs. Having a job taking care of people can be stressful and no staff there is able to handle their role. As far as food hygiene and cleaning I don't even know where to start, it's so nasty inside bathrooms waiting and dining area they don't have soap to clean dishes and barley to let patients keep up with their hygiene the food well I wouldn't feed that to my dog. Health department needs to step in. If for any reason any employee there has any nursing degrees they need to be put into void immediately!!!
My grandmother was recently staying here. When I first walked in, I immediately noticed the awful smell. After that, I noticed how cold and unwelcoming the place felt. There was no one around to greet us, direct us where to go, or even pay attention to who was walking in the building. We walked up to a nurses station, where all three employees were staring at their phones. Not a single one of them looked up, we stood there for a few minutes, then had to instead get their attention. My grandmother's room was awful. The wooden trim was literally breaking apart, leaving large, sharp chunks hanging around. My grandmother told us about how her clothes were lost the first night she arrived, and how she was given clothes from the lost and fit that did not fit her. She never got them back, and therefor resorted to hiding her belongings so they wouldn't be taken to laundry. She spoke about how frustrating it was being in a wheelchair, because someone would come get her for dinner, then forget about her, so she would be left stranded for long periods of time. My grandma was there voluntarily to recover from a surgery. She wanted to leave, and her doctor told her she could leave anytime. The staff, however, essentially held her hostage. They kept stating she had paperwork to fill out, and there was only one person who could do the paperwork, and that person was never available. She did state that there were a few nurses she really enjoyed speaking with, and that she felt really cared about the patients. She didn't have much else to say. If you are considering this place, I would HIGHLY recommend touring the facility first to get an idea of what you may be dealing with.
I currently just quit working here! Only a select few people do their jobs correctly and treat the residents with respect. Residents are never changed properly and are leaved in dirty depends hours on end. The administrator could care less about her staff and residents. She only only acts like she cares when state is there. It’s bad when residents even complain about staff. Shut this place down. Most staff and including the administrator would harass me. I would have a doctors note saying that I am sick but yet I got forced to work. So shame on them. I didn’t want residents getting sick even though I wasn’t contagious. I didn’t want to risk it for them. A lot of residents get UTIs and infections because they are not properly bathed or changed. Residents rooms smell terrible and are never ever kept clean. Do NOT ever bring your loved ones here. It’s sickening to even hear and watch residents get treated badly. It’s not all staff but most of them should not even be there!
The pictures look nice, but this place sure isn't. Understaffing leaves patient care a bit lacking. Some staff really seem like they'd rather be somewhere else and can be heard swearing and complaining right in front of residents. Very basic rooms. The food is actually not bad.
