As a support worker I have found Tibii a great company to work with. Specifically the plan manager Bianca has always been so helpful, and is always willing to help us address whatever issue we are experiencing. Thankfully, Bianca has always remained calm, kind and respectful even when bombarded with calls and messages. Very appreciative for Bianca and the team at Tibii. Thank you.
When something just works! Seeing the support following a person centred human rights model of support and how much the supports advocate for the rights of everyone involved is breath taking. The supports supporting and the company supporting the supports. There’s the goal of how I want to support people and how to do so in an unbiased, culturally sensitive and respectful to each individuals needs, preferences and values. Tibii is already doing that and I love being able to have the support as well as be part of the supporting! So much respect!! Thankyou Tibii!
Tibii provides outstanding support for people with disabilities, with a truly human rights-centered approach. Their team is professional, kind, and always willing to help. I’m impressed by their commitment to inclusion and their ability to personalize services based on individual needs. Highly recommended!
Jack, our 24-year-old son, lives with Autism, an Intellectual Disability with complex behaviors. He's been in care for the past decade. While there have been occasional periods of positive support, his experience and ours has largely been marked by trauma and a constant struggle to secure basic care for our son. Due to years of inadequate care, abuse, and neglect, Jack experienced severe anxiety, increased aggression, depression, and health issues. Under the care of previous providers, his potential never seemed to be realized, prioritized, or even considered. These past 10 years were marked by constant stress and worry due to a lack of tailored support, with regular ambulance, hospital, and police visits, and a general sense of Jack's needs/safety being overlooked while in care. We lived in a constant state of crisis, balancing the needs of our small family while managing Jack's daily emergencies and ensuring his safety and day-to-day care. Changing providers, knowing it would cause further disruption to everyone, especially Jack, was overwhelming. But his current situation couldn't continue. We had to try for a better life for us all. We had heard about Tibii from our Disability coordinator. Our first contact was with George Foumakis, Tibii's co-founder. Immediately, he broke down our walls. It wasn't his answers or guarantees that convinced us, but his journey, his nature, his softness, and the sincerity in his voice. He understood us because he was one of us. Even before we officially signed on with Tibii, they hit the ground running. Things previous providers took months to organize, Tibii did in weeks. Tibii took everything we said onboard, then they got to work. Jack's new care team members were selected by the values we expressed: empathy, resilience, integrity, and respect. We were welcomed to be involved as much (or as little) as we wanted to be in every aspect of building his team and his care. In the few months Jack has been under Tibii's care, he has already improved his social skills, self-regulation, communication, and daily living skills. Jack is a new man. He is happier, more engaged, building relationships, talking more, and healthier. He has gone from being on the verge of diabetes to eating home-cooked healthy meals three times a day, mowing his own lawn every Sunday, and participating in daily outdoor activities. They have created a warm, homey environment that now makes our visits enjoyable. The care team celebrates every small victory, reinforcing Jack's confidence in himself and encouraging him to push his own boundaries. My husband Bill and I always had the unwavering belief in the potential of our son, yet no provider shared this in the 10 years Jack has been in care. Until Tibii. Jack's is a story that proves that with good people and the right support, even the most challenging and sometimes hopeless circumstances can be overcome, and that every individual has the capacity to achieve extraordinary things when people believe in them. Jack's journey with Tibii is a testament to the power of love and of compassionate and personalized care. When families face the heart-wrenching decision of placing their child in care, they deserve a provider who understands the emotional turmoil involved. They yearn for a provider who offers support, listens attentively, and alleviates stress, not adds to it. Tibii Disability has been that for us. I hope every family like mine reads my testimony and takes the leap of faith we did because in my 10 years of dealing with disability providers, no one has come close to upholding the human rights approach like Tibii. They have raised the bar, and as a Mum of a young adult with complex needs, I couldn't be happier or more excited for his future. I am not my son's case manager anymore, thanks to Tibii. I can just be Mum.
