Mom and I looked at many beautiful facilities with many great amenities and gourmet meals. As we toured, mom was very reserved and out of four tours only one man said hello, as for staff they would smile and be about their duties. Then we toured Liberty where immediately we saw groups of smiling residents and they treated mom like she had known them forever. The staff all smiled and said hello. The appearance is what I would call comfortable. The residents is what I would call family. Mom knew she found her new home and she loves it. I give 5 for people and 3 for appearance. People always out rank material things.

My mom is a resident, she has a heart condition, tonight at 10pm her tachycardia started, with NO employees on site!! She was told she was to call the other Liberty building and wait for someone to UNLOCK the door so the paramedics can come in!! Are you kidding me!!! I understand they are in the transition from " independent " to " assisted" living, but they haven't even been inspected yet! This is completely unacceptable, for a senior living facility!!
It was difficult and a long process to convince my parents to sell their home of over 50 years to move. For a few years BevLong had delivered a hot meal monthly and built a relationship with them. After my mom fell several times she was finally convinced they would be safer in an assisting living facility. They wanted to stay in the Wadsworth area. I looked at a few places and then presented them with the information. Liberty Residence 2 fit their budget better. In July of 2018 we moved them. The adjustment was harder for my mom than my dad. I had piece of mind knowing they were in a safe place where there was medical staff 24/7, they were getting a hot meal 3 times per day, and taking medicine as it was prescribed. Eventually I had to increase their levels of care to include personal care for both of them and transferring for my mom as she had Parkinson’s Disease and was mostly in a wheelchair. The staff was always kind, helpful, and communicated well with me. I talked with Teresa the Director of Nursing frequently due to their ever changing health conditions. She was always very kind and was very sweet to listen to me vent or cry when it became a lot! Early in 2019 I had to move my dad to a memory care unit, which left my mom at Liberty alone. The staff was very supportive of her and encouraged her to participate in activities, which she did and enjoyed them! In the summer of 2019 we put my mom on hospice. Hospice of the Western Reserve and the staff at Liberty Residence worked together to give my mom a good quality of life. They started out in a one bedroom apartment on the second floor but when a studio came open on the first floor we moved her. My dad passed away in September 2019, the staff was AWESOME at supporting my mom. They paid extra attention to her while always communicating well with me how she was doing. The Friday after my dad passed she had a grand mal seizure, she became unresponsive and passed 3 weeks after my dad. During her last days the staff was phenomenal very supportive with hugs, talks, and just being present!! They always cared for mom as though she was family. She loved them and they loved her. I know she was challenging and gave them a run for their money most days, but they were always there when she needed them. Thank you to all the staff you will always hold a special place in my heart! Thank you for doing what you do daily!!😘
I think people tend to be a bit too loose with 1 and 5 star ratings. But I'm really hard-pressed to find any deficiency in our interactions with Liberty. The staff is always friendly. The COVID precautions are reasonable and well-informed and communicated. It smells and looks clean. The price is fair. Our family member wasn't keen on going. Now he isn't keen on leaving. We've been on-site 1-2x a week since we arrived 2 months ago so, although it's been a short period of time, we've had many observation opportunities. As for the food... I think it might be too delicious! Every meal I've seen I wanted a plate for myself. A lot of interactions ride largely on how you approach the situation. We've been positive, understanding, patient, and friendly. And that has been reciprocated. I would take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. Every interaction relies on both parties being "cool".
I toured Liberty and was presently surprised how nice and unpretentious it was. Compared to some other "flashy", overpriced communities, it offered all the amenities my mom was looking for and it was very affordable. I hope to move mom in sometime in early summer.
