I have been unable to go to the directors about him and his behavior because his sister is a director and he is also close to the other directors that they allow his behavior and nothing is done to him if I am being accused of a hostile work environment than I believe Alex should be held accountable for his actions including directors as well and there should be no favoritism . I feel targeted because I have spoken up about directors being unprofessional in situations at the job also the fact that I am not allowed to transfer calls for them to them, I and other co workers are trained by Alex to lie and say they are always in a meeting when residents or family members call or anyone calls for work purposes for them or come to see them corporate can listen to calls that’s been recorded and see how many times a call is not transferred and there is a lot of residents family members that know this is completely true, which I spoke up about this to Alex that it’s not right and I’m not comfortable lying when they are able to take the call or meet with them it makes the callers and visitors upset with me and it’s wrong plus their job to do . Alex has sarcastically threatened me with my job and how he could fire me multiple times for standing up to him and his behavior . I also stated I did not want to be involved with the process of their job fair for interviews because they are not organized or professional when it comes to the interviews , they also do not follow all protocols unless they know that Brian with corporate or an investor is coming to the facility that is when they pretend to be available or work and care they don’t even like dealing with the residents or their family members and they don’t like some residents which they have expressed to me and co workers so me speaking up on there job ethics and behaviors has made me a target and they have picked with me to find anything to get me fired , in our morning meetings we are free to express ourselves I spoke up and acknowledge 2 co workers and 2 directors berry and Jamie I have what i said written down which I read in the meeting and that’s when it all started to come down on me Nicole came out shortly after the meeting to the front desk and told me I needed vaccinations by Monday after already been working there since November and turning in my paperwork on my first day to come back to work when my results on my paperwork clearly stated I was immune and she was picking a statement from a comment the doctor wrote when it clearly stated my results were still pending at that time but when they came in my results showed immunity and when that didn’t work she then went to another situation when me and another co worker expressed ourselves amongst each other 4 days ago and I was the one suspended days later of the situation for a hostile environment when it was not hostile at all and I was the only one suspended but actually fired and she wouldn’t tell me how long I would be suspended when I asked she said when I call you and let you know , she brought me in her office not to ask me what happened but to automatically suspend/ fire me and spoke to me in a rude manner and she was forcefully telling me to write a statement , which I refused because she already decided to suspend/fire me. I then asked to speak with corporate and she refused to give me the information, I was told to leave the property, I asked Alex for corporate information as well and he refused to give it to me and Nicole kept telling me to leave and I ask why are you treating me that way when all I was trying to do was get information I have rights to. I feel treated unfairly and wrongly due to them using their power against me for standing up and speaking out against them they feel their jobs could be in jeopardy if I spoke up about them to where they take my job from me .Nicole also has a daughter in law that works there and the daughter in law picks with other co workers and sabotaged their jobs to get them fired and take their position , Nicole has shown favoritism and unfairness….
The Sheridan is a wonderful place! My sister and I could not be happier knowing that our mother is safe and has the care she needs. We are able to rest easy with her at The Sheridan, especially with myself being out of state. The Sheridan offers a fabulous opportunity for residents to thrive, be active, and enjoy life!! We have been nothing but impressed through out our whole experience from the first tour through the move in and beyond! I want to thank every single staff member that I have interacted with as literally everyone has been friendly, courteous, and helpful!! This whole process for my sister and I over the past few months has been extremely challenging. However, We are very grateful for many people and things falling in place quickly! We were able to move quickly with The Sheridan and the process was smooth and efficient! For what our mother needed I cannot think of a better environment for her to be in! Thank You Sheridan!!!
Beware of business practices. After the death of our loved we vacated the apartment in 2 days, and were reminded of our contractual responsibility for 14 days. The facility owes us a refund of nearly $7000 for the next month’s rent that had been paid. The contract states that refunds are paid within 45 days of the death of a resident. We are now at day 70, and can not even get a courtesy of a response to our request for status.
The Sheridan at Severna Park stands head and shoulders above the rest! The facility is new, bright and spacious, and is a joy to visit. My mother moved in recently, and we all love to visit. The staff is friendly and gave her an actual red-carpet welcome. Lots of activities, a lovely dining room and pleasant environment make it easy to give this facility a thumbs up!
