The folks at The Retreat at Lady's Island treated my mother with compassion and care during her time there. Their on-boarding process was easy. The rooms are a great size and well appointed as are the common areas. There's a lack of staff turnover which is reassuring and creates continuity of care. They all take the time to get to know their residents and are responsive to concerns and feedback. Mom was assigned to a wonderful gentleman who was tasked with helping her acclimate to her new surroundings. He would update me with his assessment of how Mom was settling in and I appreciated his input! Great outdoor space, fun activities and absolutely stellar food are icing on the cake! I mean the food is absolutely fantastic! But I can't say enough about the staff who went above and beyond during my Mom's last days. Their heart is what makes The Retreat at Lady's Island the best in the Lowcountry! Note: The photos depict Mom's room as we decorated it as well as the view from her room.

My parents have lived on the assisted living side for a year and now my dad had moved to memory care. We have found the staff to be kind, compassionate and willing to work through any issues we may encounter. It is a lovely spot and they continue to make updates to the facility. They also do a great job making every holiday festive. Nothing is perfect, but we are happy with my parents’ care, and I would definitely recommend.
Three months ago, I lost my dad, and it broke my heart. But before he passed, I was lucky enough to have him at The Retreat on Lady’s Island. From the moment he arrived, the kindness and care shown by Tyler, Bart, and the incredible nursing staff meant everything to us. My dad looked at me one day and said, “I’m so lucky to be in such a beautiful place and have you nearby.” If you’re facing the tough decision of finding assisted living for someone you love, I want you to know—this is the place. It will not only care for your loved one, it will become your second family. Thank you to everyone at The Retreat for helping us feel peace during such a difficult time.
Excellent staff, Very attentive and polite. Food is really good. Environment is always clean. Laundry is taken care of. Trash is taken care of and room is clean. Very well done. Reasonable price. We have enjoyed our stay. Look forward to staying longer.
My experience with The Retreat at Lady’s Island has been excellent. The staff is friendly, professional and caring. Our family received answers to our questions and all our concerns were addressed. Their assistance in the details made the transition smoother than we thought it would be. They continue to be available for any questions that come up. They care for the whole family, not just the residents.
