I popped down for my third unscheduled visit in a year to check out the facility for my mother. Happy to report that on every visit I’ve consistently seen happy residents and caring employees interacting with each other. The facility is always clean and well maintained and feels genuinely inviting. Donna Gayle’s, on my most recent visit, was absolutely amazing with a heartfelt discussion and genuine interest in our situation.

I have now been a resident for two months and find that everything more than meets my expectations. My brother and sister are also here. For an urban senior living facility, it can't be matched. The staff is extremely professional, caring and friendly, as are the residents. The numerous program offerings, which are provided on a weekly and monthly printed schedule, have been described in other reviews. I recommend that you schedule an appointment for an inspection and tour of the facilities.
As a long-time partner working with The Residences at Thomas Circle, I can confidently say this place is a hidden gem that stands out in every way. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing their top-notch hospitality firsthand, and each visit leaves me impressed all over again. The culinary experience here is truly a highlight. I look forward to every opportunity I get to partake in the cuisine in the dining room and at events. The meals are consistently delicious, seasoned to perfection (IYKYK), and clearly made with care and skill. It’s rare to see such thoughtful cuisine in a residential SENIOR setting, and it genuinely makes a difference for everyone who has the pleasure of dining here. Beyond the fantastic food, the team at The Residences at Thomas Circle is what truly sets this community apart. The staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely cares about creating a welcoming environment. They treat everyone like family, and it’s clear they take pride in making the Residences feel like a real home for residents and visitors alike. The amenities and events are another standout feature. They offer a plethora of amenities (roof top pool, theater room with actual theater-like seats, multiple dining options, etc.) and off and on-site activities that foster a vibrant community atmosphere. From off-site regular trips to on-site programs on estate planning and genealogy, and uniquely themed social gatherings (Flower Power HH) that bring residents, their families, and prospective residents and their families together. It’s a joy to see the thoughtful effort they put into every detail, making this place a true gem. I've asked if I can move in but unfortunately I don't meet the age requirement and my kids would miss me ;-). For now, I will continue to visit whenever the opportunity presents. I am truly grateful for the partnership we’ve built over the years, and I wholeheartedly recommend The Residences at Thomas Circle to anyone looking for an independent living senior community that combines comfort, care, and excellence.
The best place in the area for memory care. I moved my loved one in about two and a half months ago and the care team is top notch. The nurses actually care about the residents, know what they're doing, and seem almost like family. The sales team is also very accommodating and worked with me to make sure we were happy and taken care of. They are also have doctors from GW Hospital visit for regular appointments.
My parents have been living at The Residences at Thomas Circle for almost a year now, and we’re so happy we chose this community. The independent living units are clean and comfortable, and we were lucky to find a 1BR with a den that made their move from their home of 50+ years so much easier. The residents here are wonderful—a really interesting mix of people from all walks of life and backgrounds, which makes the community feel vibrant and diverse. The staff is amazing too. From the housekeeping crew to the dining and kitchen teams, maintenance, and management, everyone goes out of their way to make my parents feel at home. Honestly, sometimes I forget we’re in DC because everyone here is so warm and kind—definitely not what you expect in a big city. One thing we really love is having the GW Medical Faculty Associates team right in the building a few days a week. It’s so convenient for quick check-ins and care. Plus, having nurses and home aides available when needed has been a huge relief for us. Knowing there’s that extra layer of support makes a big difference. The front desk staff is also fantastic—they greet every visitor with so much respect and courtesy. There’s a ton of variety in the activities here, so there’s always something for everyone, no matter their needs, abilities, or health. The dining services are another highlight. The team is incredible—we’re on a first-name basis with most of them, and it’s clear they really care about the residents. They remember everyone’s names, preferences, and even how they like their food cooked. Our favorite night is Tuesday when the Chef does themed dinners—Caribbean, French, Italian, Indian, and more. He even sets up a chef’s table where he cooks on the spot, which gives the residents a chance to connect with the team. It’s such a fun way to show appreciation, and it really makes the place feel like an extended family. The location is also super convenient, and having garage access makes visiting easy. All in all, we couldn’t be happier with The Residences at Thomas Circle!
