Very pleased with the care my Mom receives at The Preston. She enjoys the food, activities and attention. They do an excellent job of planning activities, celebrating all holidays, and thinking of new things to engage the residents. The staff is great, and Monique McCrae, the Administrator, is top notch.

From the moment we walked through the front door and met with La'Kia to tour the facility, we knew The Preston Health Center was the place for my mother to get the best possible care she needed for rehab and recovery from a stroke. The room was beautiful. The facility is clean, quiet, and inviting. And according to mom, the food was great too! I can't thank the staff enough for all of their support in helping my mother and helping my father and I in navigating and assisting her recovery journey. Susan, Aaron, Jenna, Holly, and the rest of the therapy team were absolutely fantastic! The nursing staff were so wonderful, going above and beyond to care for her -- my Mom adored and appreciated each of you! We are excited and sad for Mom to be "graduating" to Encompass. But if we ever find ourselves in a similar situation again, we will absolutely choose The Preston! A true heartfelt thank you from myself and my family to our "family" at The Preston Health Center! We will be forever grateful for all you have done! THANK YOU!!
We have been very pleased with the care my father has been receiving at The Preston. The staff are readily available, checking frequently on my dad and very interactive with him thru out the day. He is always cleanly dressed when I visit daily. The room is cozy with nice views and a lot of wildlife visible thru a good size window. Thank you all for the wonderful care, it is greatly appreciated by our entire family.
My family and I wish to express our appreciation for the kind care that John received in the Preston health center during the last week of his life. He was comfortable and cared for, and I was able to be close to him.
If I can save one person who doesn’t live in Cypress from this facility… my mom was there earlier this year. Her treatment was nothing short of inhumane. I kept trying to get help from Therapy staff as that’s why she was there and they were great. Unbeknownst to me- they are not employees but contracted so my concerns should have been brought up to Director/Admin. My mom was ignored, told to urinate “ in her diaper “ for 5 days before the OT ( who was furious) posted a sign. It was a 2 person job to get her to toilet and I was told they had been too lazy to get her out of bed. 2 nurses pulled me aside to ask why she was there as she is very much “ with it .” When I explained she was supposed to be on the private room side, and not with nursing home long term patients they both agreed she was getting depressed. It took 21 days when I was originally told 1 1/2 to 2 days. I understood the hierarchy but 21 days with very little stimulation was awful. The worst part- they put her in a wheelchair in the hall to sleep for 2 nights. She was agitated and kept ringing her buzzer for help. Where’s the dr to prescribe something to calm her down? She was so upset that they told her it was punishment. And she told me she couldn’t help it or control herself. I gave the Preston the opportunity to admit her care was below acceptable standards and take responsibility for her length of stay due to her ” lack of motivation caused by bad conditions “ but they refused. Staff from mom’s assisted living facility visited her and were so upset with what they saw that they wouldn’t ever suggest this place. Don’t put your loved ones through this …
