Place has really gone down hill since new ownership. When we first moved our family member in here, April and Cheronda were amazing. Since they’re gone it’s always new staff, incorrect meds have been given to my family member. Come in here at night and the front entry smells like Marijuana. Washer has been down for a long time so as we’re paying for laundry we’re taking it home and doing it ourselves. Very disappointed in how fast this place has gone down hill!

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 11:20 a.m., I received a call from MDHHS informing me that they were on-site at The Parkdale facility. I was told that an investigation had been conducted, during which multiple claims of neglect and medication mismanagement were substantiated. As a result, the Riverdale unit of the facility was being shut down effective immediately. I was given until 5:30 p.m. to pick up my loved one. I was also informed that the remainder of the facility is under investigation due to additional identified concerns. When I contacted the facility, an employee told me that all complaints were made prior to the current management taking over seven months ago. However, the State of Michigan informed me that this is not accurate and that multiple complaints have been filed against the facility within that timeframe, with the most recent complaint having been filed on March 28, 2025. Out of curiosity, I contacted the facility yesterday to inquire about bed availability, and it appears to be operating as usual.
My dad died because of their neglect. Lori and Eleni 2 witches. My dad had fallen numerous times and then he/got covid. No one there on the weekends to make sure people were wearing masks. I was staying with my dad when we both tested positive for covid Lori made me leave. Lori wouldn’t let people around her puppy without it shots but couldn’t get off her big butt to monitor mask wearing. Other clients passed from covid at the same time as my dad and it was all hush hush. One unqualified aide to take care or 23 clients on the afternoon and midnight shift. The aides ruined my dads laundry. Would wash everything together. And Eleni Bisbibki!!!! What a joke! They need to pack it and go to Canada and rip their own people. My dad paid almost $6,000 a month for subpar care. Ask how many chef’s they’ve been through. And the food id not good.
My daughter moved me here when my heath declined and could no longer live alone. I am a stubborn Vet that didn't want to move but within 24 hours I was in love with the place and the staff. The staff are awesome! They make sure I am eating, taking my medication and help me if I need anything. I can get a ride on the van to my doctors appointments and I had my friends over for my birthday. They always tell me how nice Parkdale is and that I'm lucky to live there. There are alot of events for us who live there and it's pretty fun. The food is delicious! I've made some new friends with my neighbors. My apartment is spacious and nice. When I had a problem with my air conditioning, the maintenance man and Laurie got it taken care of. I love the staff like they are family and know I can count on them. I highly recommend The Parkdale. I'm glad my daughter made me move here.
It’s like a pretty gift box that you open and nothing is inside. Looks lovely but no care for loved ones. My mother was put in the memory care and on day one I said that I thought she didn’t need memory care yet but just assisted living. I was told she was not assessed yet and guess what ? She never was because they wanted the higher price of memory care. The room was just a room with a bathroom and has people with memory problems popping in and out all night long. The staff say it’s because families don’t want their loved ones to have medication. (They said this about my mom too when I wanted her to have medication so I think it’s a standard answer here)The food I saw given was awful. The one day I saw my mom given two pieces of bread with cheese that had melted on probably two hours prior so it looked like plastic. Her heat in her room could not be adjusted and started at 72 when she moved in and was down to 69 after a month (and when she left).. My mom told staff she was cold and they said that they would fix the heat and it never was. My mother had bad arthritis pain and it was ridiculous getting medication. It was like they didn’t put my mom in their computer system. I wonder if a fire broke out if they would even know my mom was there. A home care agency nurse and doctor had to argue with the facility to try to get her medications because even though you give medical insurance card information to the facility when you move in they claim you didn’t or have no clue where the information is. The pharmacy said she wasn’t in the system. My mother was in pain for at least ten days because they wouldn’t give her medicine. I would have to leave bottles of medicine for self medication or go there myself. The things I took my mother there to get help with she did not get the help. No shower help. Her hair was still greasy every day. On Her first day One nurse had asked me why I brought my mother there. I thought that was a strange question . Now I know why. It’s a terrible place. I have my mother in assisted living now at another facility. I am amazed at how great that place is in comparison. There are great places out there. Parkdale Senior Living is not one of them.
