Here at Mansions at Decatur I have found the friendliest and most caring people I have ever lived around. Our facilities are attractive and comfortable. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. We residents feel as if we are part of a large family who genuinely care about each other. Our three meals each day are delicious, nutritious and attractively served. We are privileged to enjoy a variety of activities that include everything from strength building exercises to painting. Those who enjoy gardening have the opportunity to grow everything from flowers to tomatoes. We have super transportation via the Mansions bus to everything from doctors appointments to museum visits. When any of our residents die, there is a resident led Memory Service that honors our deceased friend and neighbor. Our respective family members feel very much at home here and lots of them come by regularly. In a word: life at Mansions at Decatur is “the place to “ as you grow old” healthy and happy!
This place is really horrible. Very dissatisfied with our experience here. There was recently a shooting into the building and we have not been able to find out much about what happened. In addition the elevators have had prolonged service outages and mobility challenged residents have had difficulty moving from upper floors. If I had known how this was going to work out I would never have let my mother stay here. Would give zero stars if that was an option.
I really like all the perks that my mother has living here. I know that they have just opened. The bugs will work themselves out. No big complaints yet. We are very happy that my mother chose to live here, now don't let us down, thanks.
It is the perfect place for my mother, who is 90. The people and the staff are very very friendly, there are lots of things to do. Everything is centrally located for easy access. There are many specialist nearby so no need to travel very far for doctor's appointments. Great place.
