9101 Bon Air Crossings Dr, Richmond, VA 23235, United States
The WORST! The cleaning staff did not do their job. Placed my parents in a dirty room where there was food in the drawers from another patient. The staff bagged up soiled clothing with the waste still in in the clothing for the family to clean instead of disposing the waste in the toilet and rising the soiled clothing before bagging it. Personal clothing went missing even with my mom’s name and room number written in the clothing. My mom had someone else’s clothes on when I went to visit. Staff just leaves the food in front of the patient and doesn’t feed them. Staff does not ensure patient’s teeth are brushed and face is cleaned. I had to brush my mom’s teeth and clean her face. My mother is allergic to pineapple and it clearly states on her food ticket that she is allergic. What do they give her……..PINEAPPLE! I did not want to give a one star rating but that is the only way I could post my review. They don’t deserve any stars. HORRIBLE! The business card states: The Laurels of Bon Air is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care in a warm and welcoming environment. Guest satisfaction is our highest priority. That’s a lie!

I and my wife were here for physical therapy. I never received any at all. My wife got very sick and was not being attended to. She almost passed out in the hallway. I asked for assistance the nurse 10 feet away would not help because she was busy counting pills. About an hour later I had to rush her to a local hospital emergency room. Don't trust this place if you love your folks. The rooms are in need of paint, cleaning and repair. The beds were falling apart and uncomfortable. The room phones were shoddy and not clear at all. They appeared to be from the 1960s. We were never informed where the Nurse Call cords were. A man in a room next to us hollered out for help for three hours and no one came. My wife and myself received substandard care at best. They gave us a bunch of papers to sign and didn't explain any of them. They rushed us to complete them. In the stack was a paper to Do Not Resuscitate. We were never informed about it or what it was. There were no Rats there because they wouldn't live in such a dump!!
My Father was in therapy at the Laurels of Bon Air, and the team was absolutely wonderful! The therapy staff was kind and compassionate but were able to help him get stronger! We even paid privately to keep him there longer for therapy when his insurance would not longer cover it. Thankful to the staff for all they do!
I highly recommend this company to any family considering a trusted, preferred, and knowledgeable Skilled Nursing Facility in the Richmond area! Their Team is equipped to ensure a smooth transition of a level of care determined through proper training, genuine expertise, and a patient-first approach. I've always had meaningful conversations with their Staff and they make it obvious they value positive relationships. For any SNF needs, please give Laurels of Bon Air a call today!
I regret putting my loved one in this nursing home especially after she developed severe bed sores. I have pictures that are too graphic to post. This facility struggles with staffing issues and lies to the family about their loved ones care. The shower room is disgusting!! Every patient is standing, sitting and laying in everyone else's filth in the shower. The medical director/nursing director is rude and could care less what you have to say. I filed complaints and saw no changes. They will not leave towels or wash clothes in the patients rooms. If the have a accident, they have to stay nasty for hours if not days. No wipes either. Do not try to buy your loved ones nice clothes or other personal items. Once the laundry is taken out of their room, most of it does not return. The food appears to be decent. It is about the only thing I can say nice about this place. All of the things they talk about on their website about caring for your loved one is a joke!!
