My dad has dementia and is a current resident. He is well taken care of and the staff and aides are very accommodating. They have a happy hour every Friday and monthly brunches to keep family members engaged.
Our mother decided in August, 2024 that she was ready for assisted living/long-term care. The move to the Lakes of Monclova has been life changing for the entire family. The staff are very attentive from facility care personnel to facility and department directors . The number of activities (exercise, crafts, bingo, trivia, etc.,) is exactly the socialization mom needs. Additionally, there are so many unique themed events Winter Ball, Hollywood, Kentucky Derby, to name just a few. Not only does our mom enjoy the events but the family looks forward to joining in. Lastly, the nurses and aids are so attentive making each resident feel seen. They make an effort to familiarize themselves with mom’s likes and dislikes, her family and ways to make her feel special.
I wanted to take a few minutes to highly recommend The Lakes Of Monclova! Our mother was a resident there for over 3 years and the staff were so kind & supportive of our mom and entire family. Watching over our elderly parents is a really difficult phase in life but the management and staff provided such peace of mind. LOM has the most amazing activities and celebrations as well! We have so many wonderful memories of these special occasions with our mom. Sending another HUGE Thank you to each and every single staff member that served and loved our family! 🙏🏻♥️
Stopped in during a happy hour to visit a family member of a friend. They had food available while socializing and it was excellent. The facility was calm, inviting, and clean. Staff were pleasant and engaged. I wish this place would have been on my radar when my Dad was looking for an assisted living facility.
