My Mom has been in this facility for 12 yrs, now yes there was a time when we were about to move her, but due to the fact 30 yrs ago she was the Asst, Director of Nursing there for years ( she ran it) and my Ex Mother In law worked there 45yrs until her death, she would always change her mind about moving. ( sentimental reasons) but It got so bad that we decided to move her anyway. BUT!! then a new Nursing Director was hired and she said, if you give me some time I will change the care and she did. Now I make surprise visits different hours of the day and week and my Mom care has improved 100%. Now I have grown up in Nursing homes my Mom Nursed in them 37 yrs so I’m aware of the truth the good and bad about them ( All Nursing homes) there not perfect and you must be active in your love ones care. But this present day Director of Nurses ( Mrs Tonya)(hope name not misspelled) is changing things for the better at The Lakes of TexasCity.

I have been a resident here now for five months. My experience has been very good. I am treated with respect and as part of the team making decisions regarding my health care. The building is clean. Housekeeping and laundry is on top of their game. The meals are delicious. I get three good meals a day plus three treats a day and any time I want something extra before 8pm I just have to ask dietary. My experience with nursing, Business Office Mgr. and Social Work are fantastic. Especially as a new resident the department heads and nursing took interest in my needs getting me oriented to the building and feeling safe and secure. As a team member here I am reaching my goals and I like where I am headed and confident, I will reach my goals with the staff's assistance. Posting for Pamela Gordon.
PLEASEEEEEEE DON’T TAKE YOUR LOVE THERE Everyone is there is very rude they treat the patients like animals and so unprofessional . My mom was is 4 days with the same dirty bed sheets and same diaper on for days , my mom called me every night asking HELP so when I went up there, I noticed they Bed bottom so she couldn’t call for them but thanks God I give a cell phone because this place don’t have no phones in the rooms .. this place remind me of prison SO please don’t send your love ones IF YOU LOVE THEM …. They should call this place death row the lakes lakes …I’m glad I took my mother out this place 🙏🏽
My daughter has been at the Lakes of Texas City for four months now, I went everyday for the first 3 months. It was discouraging to have someone so young there, but with Medicare she had no choice. The workers are trying their best , considering what they have to work with. I find them willing to help solve any problems my daughter may have. We are greeted at the door, residents are watched over by a monitor and staff is working in all areas. You see something then take it to the attention of the case worker or management. They are willing to improve most anything with in reason. The food gets a high praise also. Family or friends need to visit more often and need to realize this is not the HILTON. The Lakes has official meetings that help bring some of the complaints up to code. Workers are brought into account for their actions, I have been there when this has happened. We all need improvement, so help out when something isn't going right for your loved one.
The review by Delene Bordeau is someone who works for the facility this place is dirty there’s a lot of of theft and many residents leave due to treatment regarding the staff if a family member is here make sure somebody calls andshows up regularly to do a welfare check! The website is deceiving. Good luck
