Over priced, over promised and looking for anyway to cut corners. Food quality has consistently diminished over the last year and now they are limiting how many meals are included and have the audacity to call them complementary. No longer serving a hot breakfast, rather putting out a pot of oatmeal and sugary pastries. The management is telling residents that they should be utilizing their full kitchen and cook for themselves. Their management team has been replaced several times and now only cares about the bottom line and not their residences. This all happened within 60 days of a rent increase. We have asked a number of times to speak to the people who make the decisions. We have been told that they will “absolutely call you back and address your concerns” but no one has called us back. They charge a premium to rent there and it is not worth it anymore. You would be better off moving your parents to an American House because that is same quality that The James is now. I would look elsewhere for your loved ones if you care about the quality of their lives. One final note- if the residents knew how to leave reviews, there would be dozens more of them. I speak for all of the residents with this review. If you decide to look at this place, take the time to speak to the residents. They will confirm everything I’ve said and more.

So many worthless promises made. In one year this place has declined beyond all belief. It is filthy, infested with bedbugs and common areas are uninhabitable. Total lack of competent and caring staff. Dining room continually closed due to vermin. Quality of food has gone from very good in 2024 to mostly inedible meals made with cheaper ingredients and fillers. And they expect residents to pay for these substandard meals or starve. So very sad that this beautiful senior living community has become so horrible so quickly due to management changes. The James is guilty of elder abuse.
New management and residents leaving. Rent increase with services cut. Residents will have to pay an extra $400 month for meals which were provided under previous management. Used to be a welcoming atmosphere but no more. Management focus is on profit only. They stopped paying for entertainment.
The new property management company at the James sucks . They cut the staffing and the meals but increased the cost. The James haven’t had a manager in over 3 months and also fired over half the staff. They limited 20 meals a month and you have to pay $10.00 a meal. It’s gotten worse and people are leaving. They fired most of staff and placed isn’t clean like the other company had the James. People are leaving because of the poor performance and lack of leadership and not clean. Don’t move to the James move somewhere else. You will be unhappy
The staff here really cares for their residents. I enjoy the services, the activities and food. This is a place I would recommend for anyone seeking quality.
