The INDEPENDENCE is an independent living community located in the Pantops area of Charlottesville, VA. Residents are billed as being '55 or Better.' Common areas are attractively decorated, bright and cheerful. Current staff members are friendly and competent from top to bottom of the chart. There is regular turnover as people age and need to move on to an assisted living community. Otherwise, the tenancy is stable. There is an organized program of Residents activities, managed by a full-time director. Van transport is provided several days each week for shopping and medical appointments when people give up driving. The grounds are well landscaped and well-maintained. Maintenance is very good. There are many activities, something for everyone. The staff truly goes out of their way to listen.
