My Mom, who had dementia was put into the Highlands of Brighton as an interim place until we could search for a place. She was placed in the "memory care" wing where her favorite scarf disappeared as soon as she arrived. The residents with dementia came in and out of her room - soon my Mom's clothing began to disappear. I caught a woman walking down the hall with my Mom's lambs- wool fleece slippers on. The food was terrible. When confronted with the theft of my Mom's clothing- one of the administers apologized and told me they would offer $50 for the loss. As someone else has commented, the place is "ghetto"; attitude,

DONT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!! This place should just be torn down. It’s so out dated and ghetto it’s a disgrace they even take care of people. My father was sent here for “rehab” all the exercises were all done in his bed they never took him out to actually help him to do those. The nurses are obviously only there for a paycheck. The nurses all have attitudes, and act like being there is interrupting their day. The nurses lacked in helping/taking care of my father. Never took him to the toilet only ever gave him a bed pan which caused him to have a very bad bacterial infection. The beds were out dated didn’t even have rails to pull himself up or hold on to.
It's impressive how the director of nursing manages to navigate the healthcare field with such a blatant disregard for ethics and integrity. Their ability to twist policies to suit their own agenda is truly a sight to behold. Kudos to them for turning healthcare into a high-stakes game of deception and manipulation. It is sad to see a facility with such high potential fail due to TRASH management. Would not put my pet rock here.
My grandmother was in the behavioral unit with Alzheimer's for a few months before passing away. When I came to visit her in her last days, the staff was amazing, caring, compassionate and treated my grandmother with dignity until her last moments and after. Everyone was helpful, answered so many questions and concerns, and made sure we were eating and drinking. I would put 100 stars for the staff if I could. I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5, because the rooms were not very warm and were drab. I wish they were a little nicer and more homey for the insane pricing of the facility.
This place is a dump. This is probably the worst nursing home/rehab facility it rochester. If there was an option for 0 starts o would have selected that. I wouldn’t even send my loved one here to die. This place is horrible my father has had to be sent to the hospital 2 times in the last week due to the lack of care from the nurses and aides at this facility. It’s all about the money to them. They don’t return phone calls, they don’t correct anything wrong that is brought to their attention. They let the patients sit for 4/5 hrs sometimes after a bowel movement without checking on them. Speaking with the higher ups and administrators doesn’t work either as they just pass the buck and can’t seem to control their staff. Please please please think hard before deciding to send your loved one here.
