My uncle needed rehab after a fall. The staff was very kind, helpful and understanding. The therapy department is very good in assisting a resident with their specific needs. The staff kept me well informed on his progress and what further goals he needed to achieve. The activities staff were always asking to take him to activities and each day had some different activity. There were no complaints from my uncle about the food, he enjoyed his meals. Overall a very satisfying experience.

If you need to check in and advocate for your loved one, please do not choose this facility. Our loved one had ALS and was completely paralyzed. We put a camera in her room so we could check in on her and was told that calling in to request assistance for her would be okay. We were met with such rudeness and disrespect for wanting our loved one to not be left in painful positions that she could not move from and made it harder for her to breathe. I was yelled at and dismissed constantly for politely asking them to readjust her or to request that she be sat up more during her feedings through her peg tube so she did not aspirate and struggle to breathe. I had a lot of problems with one aide in particular who said I had no right to ask these things of her since I was not there to help at 11 pm. (Why did we pay thousands of dollars for them to care of her then?) she grew tired of our requests and turned her camera around or closed the curtains so we could not see her change her and ultimately not give a shit if she was left in a position no one would want to be left in. Other aides would audibly scoff over the phone or roll their eyes in person over these requests. Our loved one moved into this facility in February and was dead by April. She was on hospice with a terminal illness however the actual cause of her death was preventable. One night I checked in on her via the camera and saw that she had thrown up after a feeding. Since she was not sat up straight she began to choke on her vomit (she could not use any muscles to swallow). After her feeding she was not checked on for hours so she choked for hours. I called in 4 times that night to have someone go in, clean her up, and remove the vomit from her mouth to no answer. I was out of town and this was late at night and after no answer I did fall asleep hoping that someone would check on her in the next hour or so they would, which I regret. They eventually cleaned her but vomit had aspirated into her lungs and she developed pneumonia. Her oxygen dipped that morning and she went into respiratory distress. When her son and I arrived, no one seemed concerned that she was choking to death. Hospice had been notified but the communication between In Heights and their hospice services was terrible. I went up to nurse jasmine panicking about the suffering she was enduring and was interrupted to be chastised for not saying good morning or asking how she was. She then said she knew nothing about what was going on with our loved one and that she was the last on the list to receive her meds so we would have to wait. The next two weeks were torturous for her and If we had not been with her everyday until she passed, her suffering and pain would have been unnoticed or cared for. I have so many other examples of how poorly she and we were treated but this review is already too long. We were told they could handle her needs and care and that was not the truth. The attitude we received for advocating for our loved one made an already painful experience even worse. Do not recommend.
This place is horrible especially the staff, it’s not clean at all. They hardly feed the patients or get them up for care, they don’t wash the patients up and leave them in their beds all day soiled. They fed them kids size meals and let them stay hungry and thirsty throughout the day. When you try and stand up for yourself and tell them what problems your having they curse and punish you by not feeding you or getting you out of your bed or have any care come in to see about you. The staff is incompetent and dress horrible their presentation and performance speaks volumes in horrible ways. The picture that’s on the website is not the facility it’s false advertisement. This place puts you in the mind of an old dirty motel. They also don’t have a kitchen setting as stated on the website for occupational therapy. It has a very disturbing smell and overall presence. If you care anything about your love one please do not place them in this place and for those who left their love ones at this facility, may God seek mercy on you because you know better.
The management team is great here, going above and beyond for the staff and the residents. The floor staff are amazing, helping with and making connections with the residents. The staff make it fun and enjoyable for the residents to live here. Keep up the good work!
The Heights Rehabilitation Center I first learned about The Heights Rehabilitation Center back in 2018, and I can honestly say it has transformed my perspective on care facilities. Initially, I was hesitant to consider any nursing home for my daughter, even for a short stay. However, my experience at The Heights has completely changed my mindset. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the staff at The Heights genuinely cares about the well-being of their residents. Over the past six years, I have watched my daughter thrive in an environment that has been supportive, nurturing, and attentive to her needs. The staff members are not only skilled but also compassionate, making it clear that they prioritize the health and happiness of each resident. While no facility is perfect, and I can certainly point out a few minor discrepancies here and there, I firmly believe the positives far outweigh any negatives. The commitment to quality care and the warm atmosphere they foster truly set The Heights apart from other facilities. In fact, I took my daughter to another place once, and it was such a stark contrast that she never wanted to return. The Heights, located in Broadview Heights, stands out as a beacon of excellence in rehabilitation and care. If you are looking for a place where you can leave your loved ones in good hands, whether for daily care or during a short trip, I wholeheartedly recommend The Heights Rehabilitation Center. It has made a significant difference in my daughter's life and has given me peace of mind knowing she is in such capable and caring hands.
