When you walk in the door it says proudly on its windows "5 Star Facility". They must be using a 15 Star system. It is a hole in the wall kind of place. Are there worse facilities? Of course, but they've set the bar very low for those places. They didn't want to have to come in to help the person we came to see, so he could go to the bathroom. So instead they just put adult diapers on them. Treating people like giant babies is easier than actually caring for the person. The place was old looking with two people to a very small room. There seemed to be 1-2 people on the floors watching but that's it, watching. They never moved to help anyone. It's a classy place and if you have a loved one that ends up there, do everything than to get them out. One star is too high for this place but they don't allow you to go in to negative numbers. Grade F-

My stay at the Grove of Evanston was fantastic, they allowed residents to go out on pass to have lunch and dinner . Therapy was great and they were focused. The staff were all pleasant.
The Nursing staff does a top notch job. The facility is clean and well maintained. There are activities to help keep you engaged. The staff is friendly and courteous and helpful. A few people stand out: Nicole, Evelyn, Cyral, Summer and Iqra to name a few. The food has been going down hill.
Maria my nurse is very competent, honest and very good. Even Gina and Mini are the best employees. Everyone is very helpful. The facility is very clean and food is very good. .They keep our room cleaned and organized. Good activities. I love to play bingo. Emaja is very good activity assistant.
I am a resident of a nursing home called the Grove in Evanston which also performs rehabilitation services. I am here for rehab, hopefully short-term, and had a great deal of anxiety based coming to ANY facility based upon my prior experiences with nursing homes pertaining to my now-deceased parents. The Grove of Evanston surpassed my expectations based upon factors that are important to me, such as desiring a place that is not too depressing and with friendly employees. I want to recognize Registered Nurse Cyril and Certified Nurse Assistant Nicole as two employees who made me feel welcome when I arrived, helped me overcome my anxiety and who showed compassion and patience with me each day as my health slowly improves. There are also OTHER nice people here among the team of caregivers, so I am glad I chose this facility.
