I have been at The Grove at the Lake for 20 months and I am transitioning out, after having a pretty bad injury to my back. I was not healthy when I got here, but I am considerably better now. I have worked in a resident hospital type setting for 12 years prior to my injury and stay here at the Grove. When I first got here there were some bad apple's. I can say things are a lot better than when I first came here. At the beginning there seemed to be these "agency" workers here and they were not here to help just collect a paycheck. But they have weeded them out. Since I have been here they have hired all new Social Workers, Director of Social Services which they have been very supportive helping me transition back into society. They have a great core of CNA's that really care. They work very hard and stay supportive and kind. They have hired some new Nurses that are great and that adds to the great core of Nurses and Nurse managers that they already had. My opinion the Grove at the Lake has a great staff from the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, direct care staff, Physical Therapy all the way to the TOP. Please remember these jobs are not easy, you have to care about people to do this job and I believe this staff does. From having some experience working in a similar field, I can say the Grove is a good place to rehab from an injury like I had. I have a lot of respect for the Management staff and everyone that works here striving to do better everyday. I can't name names of all the people that have helped me out because I wouldn't want to leave anyone out. The staff here is outstanding, while being tasked with a difficult job. I do recommend The Grove at the Lake. Best wishes to anyone needing help. Mark

This facility has the best staff and management I have ever seen! Everyone from the front desk to the therapy gym, the floors and office staff are such hard working people with kind souls who are really trying to do their best and make a difference in peoples lives. I appreciate all of them for what they do :)
My mom was stay here for a month, it is for her therapy to walk and talk. The staffs and nurses are friendly and helpful with my mom and me. Also, this place have very good social worker, Carmen. She is very helpful by communicating with me and keep me updated about my mom and her meeting. Even after my mom was discharged for hospice care, she followed up and checked with me to making sure that my mom is cared for. It's a blessing to have a excellent social worker. There are few things about this place that I don't really like. The elevator sometime having issues, buttons not really working and took too long time to arrive the floor. My mom doesn't really likes the foods, but she ate it regardless. Overall, this place is good for short term stay.
My Dad has been in this facility for over a year now, he has Dementia. I have read some of the reviews for this facility and granted, i have had my issues with my Dad's care but, we must remember we are all humans and we are all fallable. Unfortunately we live in a time where nothing is going to be perfect no matter where you go. I know there are a lot of people seeing these ratings of 5/5% at a lot of these facilities and we have to remember these are people's personal opinions. The truth is NO facility is perfect. Every medical facility, whether it be a hospital, nursing facility or Dr's office are short staffed. That is the problem. Unfortunately we can't snatch people off of the street and say come and work here. I know that some people want the nurse to do everything for their loved one, well I'm here to tell you that's NOT going to happen! If you want your loved one to be cared for exclusively, then come in and help the staff care for your loved one instead of complaining and writing these bad reviews! NO place is perfect!! Some of the family members of the residents have exchanged phone numbers and are like a support group to help care for our loved ones. Now, I feel totally different about the staff caring for my Dad!! Nurses: Stephanie x2, Ivette, Sheryl, Peace, Jo, Kay, Amber, Mel... CNA'S: Azeez, Alexis, Stephanie, Jackie, Willow, Carla... MSW: Zaria, DON: Richelle, Receptionist's: Katrina, Brooke and Lisa. Kitchen: Stephanie and Administrtor: Julie. I know i have missed naming some people, please charge it to my head and not my heart. We all work together to care for my Dad. I thank all of them from the bottom of my heart! There are some things I would like to see changed: *I would love it if the 4th floor could have some music at the nurses station for our Dementia residents who are there. *I would love it if, there were more activities for the Dementia residents to be a part of. *I would love it if administration could remove the brown chairs and replace them with more of the blue chairs or any chair with a wipeable surface. Please see me for an explanation if need be. *I would really love if the 4th floor could be decorated festively all of the time. There is one thing I would like ALL of the staff at the Grove and anyone reading this that works in any capacity in the medical field to remember EVERYDAY that you go to work. You are working with sick people and stressed out family members, put YOURSELF in there shoes. How would you or your family members want to be treated in any of these situations. ALSO, ALWYAS REMEMBER, GOD IS WATCHING.
So far my mom has been at the grove at the lake for 3 weeks now and all I can say is I have gotten to know so many nice people that work their and the place is always clean and the staff are super friendly and the doctors are wonderful and they take good care of the patient that they see everyday and the food is always hot and ready I also like that I can bring my cat inside and the patient love animals as well 💗
