Mom stayed at The Grand recently for twelve nights for rehab after falling on her hip (no broken bones). All employees, even those just passing in the hall, were pleasant, with rare exception. There were heartfelt goodbye hugs upon her discharge! Fortunately, despite her 94 years, she is medically and mentally healthy, and she credits an experienced PT with speeding her recovery. Mom’s situation may not compare to someone with long-term physical issues, but for her it was a positive experience. She was fully capable to address her own discharge plan, staying only as long as necessary, but the nurses, social worker, and administrators that I spoke to were helpful. If the facility were newer and more spacious, and the food a bit better, I would give it five stars. Thank you!

My name is Brian. I have been staying at The Grand in Whitestone Queens for 11 years. I am very pleased with the services. I participate in a different variety of Activity programs here. I enjoy our beautiful patio when the weather is good. I am able to get the nutrition that I need with meals that look very appetizing. The staff treats people with respect and dignity. We are like a family here. The nursing staff are very knowledgeable and respond with an incredible sense of urgency.
My. Mother has been hear. Year & 3 months It’s. Been good , thank. God ! Because. I don’t Don’t PLAY. WHEN IT COMES TO MY MOTHER ! Staff has been great. Nothing stolen ! Clean. I pop in. Any hour. Mostly nights. They need bigger closets. Eventually gonna need a more PVT room. This situation is hard enough, seeing my mother like this ! So please , keep up the good. Work. I don’t want to. Loose it ! We. All have parents ( family) treat people the way you want to be treated! Is the key Especially in this type of workplace ! Or Find Another occupation . Because family It’s not gonna tolerate anything different No me anyway. ! But I have Already recommended this place to my neighbor when his wife had an accident they loved it Jeff Huber I was so Glad to hear that he had a great experience while she was there So keep up the good work people ! God bless us all ! People stay a way from the guardianship court systems ! It’s a money making nightmare to you trying to get help Specially, if you have cut throat family members that has to be Involved ! Not sure what route to take but. Stay away from from Guardianship cases ! Make. Sure you get the right attorney that has a lot of experience with this !
My Uncle is currently being treated here, he has been made fun of, put in clothes that did not belong to him and left to sit in a wheelchair for hours. He is suffering from atrophy and without supervision is being told to handle his daily activities without assistance, that's what landed him their in the first place. I will be taking the necessary steps against this facility, they are down right deplorable in their treatment of the elderly.
Cora seems hard working. Sharon not so. Jin seems sincere and professional. Sharon tries to pass off work to Cora, supervisor doesnt come to see room Sandra gets caught in mix. Food arrives cold, will probably bring in Uber eats. Hopefully mom can benefit from PT. They are on a dead end street, prophetic. Mom will have her own first hand review. 1.20.25 head nurse where are you? Mom is in room 116B waiting. Receptionist said to call back. Must I wander room to room looking for the nurse. Mom pressed that red call button and it's ring is widely ignored by anyone on the floor. Let the search go to the other rooms. Guess which facility takes meds from patients and loses same meds. Advair was removed from her room and for the 2nd time is missing. Must be some oversight required for controlled substances in a state run facility , but maybe some one behind the dumpster is selling the unused doses. Zero stars is not an option
