Our mom has been here almost two years. The staff is outstanding - the facility is much more homey than other places we visited and where she had stayed. The attention to the little details puts this place in a different league than the standard places. The food is also very good and they will provide alternatives to the menu .

I have been working at the gardens of sun city for 3 amazing years. I absolutely love being apart of this beautiful community. Our residents, staff, and families is what makes this place home. ❤️
I was a visitor to the gardens Three days a week on The memory care unit. I took care of someone aside from the staff. They have med techs and caregivers. A nurse that takes care of paperwork and doesn’t provide patient care for the building. There were several instances of neglect that were grossly overlooked and upper management didn’t rectify. Staff didn’t check them every 2 hours. Lunch and dinner portions were so small most people lost weight, a lot. If you ordered off the “anytime “ menu , it better be around a mealtime or you may not get it. The “anytime “ menu doesn’t change. So much for variety. Personal hygiene wasn’t given and depends were often left on for 3 shifts soiled. Housekeeping was horrible, and most of the time a housekeeper that was fired, wouldn’t even come in and clean. When she did, I would have to re do it. It’s supposed to be done every 2 weeks… (it has changed since then). The new housekeepers are wonderful. The entertainment leaves a lot to be desired. The manager Michelle, is very unprofessional and personally attacked me on 2 occasions. Very confrontational and accusatory. How this place got an award from a place for mom befuddles the brain. Then again they pay for the service.. if you love your family members and they need memory care, as that is all I can speak to, don’t put them here. One caregiver on 6-2pm ran the unit spectacularly . She deserves recognition and a raise. As I was leaving after frequenting this place for over a year, they made changes and hired a memory care director. Hopefully she changes things.
I was looking for the right place for my dad. He needs full time memory care. I wanted him to have his own room with good light. I could tell right away it was a good place for him. I had fun fixing his room up to make him feel at home. The people working there are very friendly. I noticed right away the people living there all looked happy. I am looking forward to seeing my dad enjoy the activities and the good food.
Moved my parents into the community in mid-January. The process to get my parents into the community was smooth and my parents like the place very much. When I first toured the community with my parents, the facility seemed outdated, but ad the months have gone by the community has been in a constant renovation bringing it up to date. Most repairs or concerns are addressed withing an acceptable amount of time. My mother really loves the place and the community has brought out the social person she was before she got "old". She is always busy doing things when I call and many times does not have time to speak to me. My father who is 94 years old is a little more settled in what activites he will do, but the community always makes their best effort to invite him to events. He has made friends with other residents and likes to visit with them during meal time. The Garden of Sun City truely follows the motto that people make up the community. In the Garden, the staff and residence truely make the community a home for my parents.
