This review is for the Inn at the Fountains, the assisted living section. A couple of suggestions if you are considering this place: be aware that your rate will increase multiple times per year. Before I took my Mom out, we were facing 5 increases from February to August : an annual rent and care cost increase as well as increases based on care needs (2 per year), then an increase because she went on hospice. Hospice provides all med management and showers, but the facility planned to increase her rate $500/mo ( I was told by management ) for her being on hospice. Also be aware of your loved ones service plan and don't assume that the items that are on it, that you are paying for, are actually being completed. I found that as her needs increased, it became increasingly difficult to get those needs met, even though we were paying for them. And finally, you will get an email several times a year asking you to donate money for a bonus for employees at the end of the year. In all my years as a nurse, we were taught that it is unethical to ask for, expect or accept money from patients or families, but you will get that letter. I feel that I am paying thousands of dollars a month for my loved one's care and the facility can pay bonuses from that. Consider looking at small senior homes as well as big box facilities and ask lots of questions before you decide. In my research, I found that most of the smaller homes raise rates yearly, if at all. There were many good staff at the Inn who truly care, and some who do not, which is true anywhere.

I currently live in Texas. My mother lives in Tucson just in the past two or three weeks we desperately needed to get some paperwork, notarized very hard to do from such a distance, but Ashley Hayes the wellness director at this facility was the sweetest most helpful person anyone could ever hope for. She seems to truly care for all of the residence that live there and has their best interest in mind and wants to make sure their needs are met. If you’re thinking of placing a loved one in a retirement community, I would highly recommend this place your loved ones would be well taken care of!
The Fountains community casitas are very nice! They offer independent living without the downside of ownership responsibilities. The common areas have an authentic southwestern feel with all amenities included. Most importantly, Jennifer Fitzgerald as their sales/marketing representative, is absolutely the BEST! She takes as much time as you need to answer all questions as well as to tour the property. The Fountains easily was among the top three of the communities that we visited.
I've been so impressed with The Fountains at La Cholla. My mom initially moved into Independent Living there, and then to Assisted Living. The staff have been nothing short of exceptional at every step of the process. From the servers in the dining room to the housekeepers to management and the Executive Director, I have had years and years of only positive experiences. Everyone knows my mom's name and her needs, and they greet me by name when I walk in the door. They have compassionately assisted my mom as her Alzheimer's disease has progressed, and have always made sure I have had every update. Special thanks go out to the amazing concierge, Carol, who has assisted my mom in taking care of her beloved cat - a task that she took on purely out of the goodness of her heart, her love for cats, and her love for my mom. We are now preparing to enter memory care: it's a difficult moment, and I have found great comfort in knowing that the same people who have helped her so brilliantly so far will continue along the journey with us. I can't recommend them highly enough.
The staff at The Fountains is wonderful and caring. One of the reasons we chose The Fountains independent living and the Fountains assisted living, The Inn, was because there is very little turnover in the staff. It is so important for my mom to see familiar faces, people who know her well and care about her. My mom loves the activities and outings. There is something interesting to do every day. She especially loves the musical events. She has a very nice apartment that is well-maintained. I don’t live in Tucson, so having my mom cared for by The Inn’s competent, kind, and caring staff gives me comfort. I am happy to recommend The Inn.
