It is always hard for me to write negative reviews, but I would hope someone would have shared this with me. My mom has been at Encore for several years. I am grateful for those who have been such a big help, but most are no longer there. My mom declined significantly over a couple of days. I was so worried about her, because I knew something was terribly wrong. Yesterday, I asked her nurse who has known her for a long time if she thought she needed to go to the hospital. Her response was "what do you think they will do for her there?" Meanwhile, I trusted my gut and called the paramedics. She got to the hospital with a fever and a severe UTI that if left untreated for much longer the doctor said could have killed her. She was very dehydrated as well. This is the third time I have had to call paramedics myself, and each time she was in the hospital for at least a week. Encore used to call me with every medication change. Now that never happens. She also has a severe sore on her back that no one mentioned until she was in the ER. I believe the wound care nurse was there, but no one shared that with me except her roommate. I also saw bandages on her feet which the nurse had no idea about. My mom has a lot of fight left in her, but I strongly feel the mentality at Encore is that they are old and ready to go. I feel blessed for every day that I still have my mom. Also, don't ever expect to reach anyone when you call, and definitely do not expect call backs when you leave messages for anyone at Encore. Eventually they may get back to you, but generally not. Additionally, at least one of the two elevators are always broken. I knew it was a matter of time before I got stuck. That was weeks ago, and it is still broken. I was told they are extremely old. In my opinion they need to be replaced. Residents go up and down all day in those, but I guess that's the least of the problems there. My heart truly breaks for those who have no one to check on them constantly. And not everyone can afford a private aide, but many have them and I can see why. I heard the whole nursing home system is broken, so sadly this might be everywhere. Just sharing so you know what to expect when you put your loved ones here.

After visiting several places with my mom in mind, I found Encore and it has been a real revelation. Mom is 91 and needs rehab and long-term care. Encore has those and outshines other places I visited. It’s bright, has a lovely outdoor area with patio, comfortable benches and a gazebo, and a friendly, helpful staff that put my mom at ease and reassured me that she’ll be well taken care of. The admission staff of Brian, Nick, and Sergio was friendly and helpful, making it easy to transition my mom to the facility. Staff members have been courteous and supportive. I’m glad we found Encore.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the Encore rehabilitation center. I’ve been through several with my Dad in the past couple years but this time my mom is now in decline and we chose Encore. Not only is it sparkling clean, the entire staff was very welcoming and very pleasant. My mom thoroughly enjoyed the staff and the food as well. And believe you me,, she is quite picky.. It is amazing that in just one week she was able to get back to her life after being hospitalized for 18 days. So thank you Encore and staff for a pleasant visit and a wonderful outcome!
I highly recommend The Encore, for anyone seeking top-quality skilled nursing care. The facility is exceptionally clean and well-organized, creating a comfortable and safe environment for residents. The facility administrator Vernando, and the administrative team is highly efficient, ensuring that everything runs smoothly, while the staff is professional, compassionate, and attentive to residents’ needs. Their dedication to providing excellent care and support truly sets them apart. If you are looking for a facility that prioritizes quality care and resident well-being, this is an outstanding choice.
I need to update my review after my dad has been there for a month. This is the worst rehab facility. First, they do not even have a pain medicine doctor. Second, my dad has run out of his pain medicine 3 times over a weekend when everyone magically becomes unavailable and I had just spoken to the doctor about this issue. The staff cannot even do the basics like making sure a patient has enough medicine to last over the weekend! The DON Brandy never answers her phone or replies to text messages. The front desk staff are rude and hang up on you. Lastly, the director is joke. He doesn't do anything. Read the other reviews and never bring a loved one here!
