Staff was sitting on the floor when I visited my dad which I thought was very unsanitary he didn’t feel very comfortable here so he wanted to transfer to plainview but they put it off for a week no communication there then finally they told him that it wasn’t gonna work out because of the insurance but it’s the same management so I don’t know why that would have mattered what does it cost money to transfer? Or is that all they care about is money ? He didn’t feel comfortable with the nurses because they didn’t know what they were doing and they were crabby they gave him dates on when he was able to go that day would come then they’d be like oh no you can’t go today he did make a couple friends and got along with the residents and liked the size of the building he just wanted to be closer to his family and felt like they ignored in that area he probably won’t be coming back here

My Mom was in and out of The Emeralds several times and she always had a good experience. For the money they charge (I've understood that said fee is determined by the State), I can't imagine how the facility isn't maintained better, but it isn't. That's a management / investor issue. In terms of the care my Mother received, I thought she was well cared for. A family member or friend visited frequently and had regular contacts with the staff. Perhaps that made a difference in Mom's care. That said, I was pleased by the attentiveness of each staff member I had contact with, and I know my Mother felt the same way. From our experience, the four star rating is only a reflection of the management / investor decision that allows the facility to deteriorate as it has.
We have needed their services several times with aging parents. In the past it was an incredible organization. Very sad to see the change over the past couple of years. The staff mean well, but they are so understaffed -- especially with nurses. Wounds are not being checked for days. My mother-in-law is in the same clothes she arrived in three days ago even though we provided plenty of clothing. It truly represents elder abuse. How far they have fallen. 😪
This is not a place to have your loved ones! Employees that don’t care about the elderly and the fact that they need help. My mother laid in her soiled depends for lengths of time before she was cleaned up. She was dehydrating and I asked for the glass for her to have water on a Thursday because hers had disappeared. When I got there the following Thursday(I live 350 miles away) she still had not received her big glass. Understaffed and those that are there do not care!
My elderly aunt has been at The Emeralds for a while now (Long Term Care). She started out with their Rehab OT and PT Care - and she has improved! When I call to get a hold of my aunt - the staff is friendly and respectful - they have been great to work with. I am grateful for the care they give her and my aunt has no complaints. Social workers have been great at communicating with me and I can get ahold of them easily. Especially Justina David. Thank You ladies!!!
