My wife and I moved to the Davis Independent Care Community about three months ago, and have thoroughly enjoyed our transition from our home in Porters Neck to a maintenance free living at Davis. It started with Landon and Brandi during our move in phase, and has continued with an extremely friendly and caring support staff that has made our stay seamless and comfortable. The beautiful campus has state of the art facilities with wonderful amenities that promote an active lifestyle. Wellness and recreation is a top priority within the community, with resort style swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, fitness center, as well as the full service Serenity Station Salon and Spa. There are numerous walking paths throughout the community, and countless dog friendly areas for our golden doodle. The food is very good, with numerous food options and dining venues. A main reason why we sold our home and moved to the Davis community was a piece of mind for our kids. Davis is a stress free, turn key lifestyle, no home maintenance or landscaping, with weekly residence cleaning and daily dining included. A major advantage living in the community is that all apartment amenities and services are accessible under one roof, a huge advantage during inclement weather. We have made numerous friendships in a short period of time, made easy by a sense of family and community that helps support communal and social activity. And most importantly, I wanted to take the proceeds from the sale of our home and make money for us via investments, unlike other communities where you have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars up front and then pay monthly rent. We wanted to control our money and ultimately have the ability to use it where needed. In reality, moving to Davis was an easy choice and one that will make our lives extremely enjoyable.

The Davis Community is absolutely beautiful and the environment is so warm and welcoming. I’ve had family members who resided in the skilled nursing area and I have referred multiple friends to other areas of the community as well. The staff really goes over and beyond and provides the care that you desire for your loved ones. I believe strongly in referrals but I also want to be confident with what I’m referring. Upon being asked by friends for my thoughts on nursing and independent facilities, I always recommend The Davis Community. I can say without hesitation that I’m always sincerely thanked by the person who asked for the recommendation! A friend from my church recently moved her mother there and said she is thriving and is so happy with her care. I personally have utilized the spa services and they are first class. I have also frequented Cornelia’s restaurant and the food is delicious! It’s wonderful that all areas of aging can be addressed on one superb campus!
Probably the toughest decision a person has to make as they get older is where they will be spending the rest of their later years. My wife and I chose Davis Community and couldn’t be happier! Everyday we feel like we’re staying in a five star hotel. The place is beautiful, well maintained and the staff is extremely professional, very courteous and always helpful. We feel very safe here and well taken care of!! We definitely made a great decision. Diane and Tom Massaro
My grandpa lived here a little over 4 years. The staff took really good care of him. The administration was great with accomodating him when he needed to change rooms. And in his final days, the staff was so thoughtful to me and my husband and really looked after my grandfather and made him as comfortable as possible. I'm so thankful he was able to spend his final years here at Davis community.
My first visit here. One of Wilmington's very best ! Elegant interior decoration, a sprawling, protected campus with several buildings and very gracious staff ! My friend in Rehab says the cuisine is excellent. But Rehab patients need SOME social contact and activities too!
