When I had to get a knee replacement I needed to find a respite to take care of my wife who has Parkinson' disease. I contacted A Place for Mom for recommendations. The Country House first on the list. My wife and I were impressed as soon as we walked in the door. The place was immaculate. The staff was warm and welcoming. The rooms we were shown were perfectly adequate for my wife's simple needs. But just to make sure that we weren't missing out on an even better option we looked at two other facilities. They didn't come close the Country House. So we paid for 2 weeks care with the option of extending if needed. The bottom line is that my wife who vehemently resisted staying in assisted living felt immediately at ease and within a few days she was fully adjusted, made friends with other residents and, most surprisingly, she loved the food! The nurses were attentive to her needs and responded quickly when my wife presses the help button that she given to wear around her neck. With one minor glitch, they provided her 3 times a day with her medications. My wife has difficulty working her cell phone, so they help make calls. It turned out that I needed two additional weeks before I was ready to resume caring for her at home. She was such good hands that I never had to worry about her. That relief was priceless. It is without hesitation that I give The Country House a 5 star rating.

I have been at the Country House for a little over 5 months now, and it is honestly the best community that I have worked in. Between the staff and the residents, there's so much peace here. It feels good to come to work and not be overwhelmed and stressed out. The Country House is special, and yes, it's the people that live and work here that makes it a great place to be. I'm finally happy at work!! 😊
We are very pleased with the Country House. Mom is a recent new resident. The staff and residents have been very welcoming and accommodating to her (and us) during this time of adjustment. Sean Culhane was fantastic in offering a couple of orientation-style visits for Mom. He was also very reassuring to my wife and I as we were extremely nervous about the transition. Sean put our anxieties at ease with his experience and confidence.
Tha staff is excellent, the meals are good and well-balanced and prepared appropriately for older people. The place is very clean. The driver I see, I think his name is Stephen, is very kind and patient with his passengers, and has a good sense of humor. My Grandmother says she likes to get out with him, just to go for a ride, and he always accomodates her. The staff here really cares about their residents.
My mother was a resident there until June of 2022. I do not believe that my mother received good care. I was never invited to attend a care plan meeting which might have helped me identify when my mother's decline started happening. The staff was not very attentive, especially just before she was transferred out emergently, at my sister's insistence. The staff on duty refused to call 911 for my mother although her level of consciousness had changed drastically from her baseline. She was sitting in the lobby at the time, completely slumped over in her chair and was not responsive. My sister called 911 on her own after staff acted unsure and made phone calls to various supervisors/administrators. As stated, my sister called 911 and my mother was subsequently admitted to Northern Westchester Hospital. My complaint is not that my mother got sick but the staff's response to her getting ill and refusal to call 911 for an obviously very ill woman. I would not recommend placing your loved ones in this facility.
